Saskatchewan Roughriders History
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional team in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and one of the oldest professional North American sports franchises. Originally competing as the Regina Rugby Club in 1910, the team name settled permanently on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1946 before joining the nascent CFL in 1958. The Roughriders made the playoffs every year from 1962 to 1976, winning their first Grey Cup in 1966. Overall, the team has made 19 Grey Cup appearances, with four wins including 1989, 2007 and 2013. Across their history, the Saskatchewan Roughriders roster has consisted of 20 Canadian Football Hall of Famers, seven Annis Stukus Trophy winners for the CFL’s top head coach and and four Most Outstanding Players, as well as four recipients of the Most Outstanding Canadian Award, six Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Awards, three John Agro Special Teams Awards and two Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards. The Roughriders’ rivalry with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers has led to two annual matchups between the traditional Labour Day Weekend game and the now-dubbed Banjo Bowl the following weekend.

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium
Rider Nation have been gathering for Saskatchewan Roughriders home games at Mosaic Mosaic Stadium since its opening in 2017. The 33,500-seat venue replaced the Roughriders’ long-standing home at the historic Taylor Field after eight decades. The spectator-friendly setting is complete with sunken-bowl seating and tiled panels that partially cover three sides of the field to protect from the Prairie weather. Fans set a capacity record at 33,506 during a 2019 Saskatchewan Roughriders matchup against rivals the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 2022, Mosaic Stadium hosted the Grey Cup for the first time, marking the fourth time the championship game was held in the city of Regina.

Although the Riders lost the game at home, the atmosphere at the game was awesome. It was a fun outing.
Organisation was very good. Entrance was organised the sales of marchandise was well coordinated.
It was a good experience. We only go to games occasionally but this was one of my favourite. Would be better if Sask had won. Great seats, easy to use the scanned tickets.
First time at Mosaic Stadium to watch Riders football game. Great seats, great stadium!
Although the Riders blew it against Edmonton, our seats were great! Not a bad seat at Mosaic Stadium. Go Riders!
Affordable and close to more beer I’d rather rider zone then sit
The Roughriders game was a first date for me and I had the best time! Riders ended up losing the game, but my date was definitely a win!!
Although I am not a Roughrider fan,I have been a CFL fan all my life (71 years old). This is the best stadium I have ever been to and the Roughrider fans are the best in the league!
Great atmosphere but food prices are way to high!! We had lots of fun with family!
Nice venue, great game and great fans. Will make this an annual event. To the Rider fans, you're a class act Thanks for the good times and memories, will reciprocate the same class at the Banjo Bowl.
Awesome stadium. No problems receiving the tickets and showing them on a mobile phone. The only issue was with the coaching of the Riders last couple of plays!!!
Beautiful stadium, great sound system and lots of options for food and drinks.
I loved it when the Riders kicked out of their end zone into a strong wind instead of swallowing their ego and taking a knee. The subsequent TD by the Bombers was very sweet. The win....even sweeter.
I bought a parking pass for the Labour Day Classic game Sept 4/22. I found it unusual that I had to pick up the parking pass in person at the ticket office, when everything else is done online or via phone, etc. I think it defeats the purpose of buying a parking pass ahead of time, when you have to find a place to park on a busy game day to pick up the pass before you can park in your designated area! Why not have an electronic pass like the game admission tickets?
Excellent facility-best in Canada to watch a sporting event.
Mosaic stadium is a great facility with great fans! Unbelievable how many people were wearing a riders jersey.
While really enjoy watching football in our beautiful stadium, it’s getting hard to follow the game.we have a huge screen to watch but instead of replays we have commercials, contests and words from sponsors. If you don’t I stand the hand signals from the referees you won’t know what half the penalties are, they don’t announce injured players or coaches challenge’s. We pay good money to go and watch football, turn off the ads and torn up the game.
Great time and incredible venue. Organized clean and well run facility. Fantastic experience top to bottom!
Game result wasn’t what I wanted but a great night of entertainment all together!
Still ans always a fan but they need lots of work and improvements on all aspects of the game. thanks for the efforts of the defence, once again.
