One of the best concerts I have seen at the Orpheum.
Saw him here many years ago and couldn’t wait to see him again! I can just close my eyes and listen to his soulful voice anywhere..! He started with Crazy and it just kept going. Wish he would’ve been not too far up in front as it was difficult to see him from the balcony. I wasn’t aware that this was his last night of his NorthAm tour!
I went to see Seal at both the Seattle and Vancouver shows. Both were in my top 3 shows of all time. Both shows, everyone stood the whole time singing each word of every song. They only time anyone sat down was during some of the slower numbers (but not for long) and during the intermission. Trevor Horn on bass and Seal's band were brilliant both backing up Seal and as the Buggles. Seal had everyone in the palm of his hand and many with tears in their eyes including myself. I hope he follows through on his promise to come back to Vancouver soon. I'll be waiting in line.
I’ve been a fan of Seal’s ever since the Seal IV album came out when I was in high school. Having been a little young to attend that tour twenty years ago I patiently waited that length of time for his return to Vancouver. Looking at his ageless physique you’d never guess it’s been two decades and three since the albums spotlighted in this show. What a wonderful, heartfelt, vibrant performance to bring the Orpheum back to life post-pandemic! The theatre’s never been more beautiful than during Seal’s Killer and Kiss From A Rose live from my row! OMG…what a way to a show a beloved (but maybe overplayed) type of hit in a new light and give even those that came just for *THAT* song a moment to remember! My only quibble is that I wish Seal and his longtime producer Trevor Horn conceived this show as a celebration of 30 years of Seal and their creative partnership with even more songs, perhaps a few from Human Being and Seal 7 incorporated as well. However I’m still good to accept a 14 song set list to experience Seal’s heartfelt , philosophical banter (reminiscent of his liner note essays) and inventive musical adlibs that make the live versions especially distinct. He’s got an amazing voice and presence complemented by a great band. However sound was a little so-so at times despite Seal taking great pride in his albums’ sound mixer in that role-maybe where you’re sitting plays a part too. All in all 4/5-one of the best dude singers alive, so underrated. I hope he won’t make us wait another twenty years for his return!
Enjoyed the show from beginning to end. Great musician. Will go again!
This was the best concert ever! So present and connected to the audience and his voice was so beautiful.
Seal gave an outstanding, energetic performance made all the more special by his connecting with his audience. The band was equally fantastic and had the audience on their feet and dancing enthusiastically in place. Hope he comes to Vancouver again!
Seal concert in Orpheum theatre was interesting. Back up band Buggles was great. They played some Yes songs since Trevor Horn was once lead vocalist on the Drama album. They really primed the audience for a great night. When Seal first came on the audience went wild as he played his biggest hit to start the show. He then maintained that energy until he started storytelling and storytelling. Was this a tactic to shorten the set list? He talked for up to 10 minutes at a time on three occasions. If I wanted his biography. I would have strayed home and bought his book. The other disappointment was that he chose to go into the crowd and sing for one or two songs towards the end of his show. Was probably cool for the people sitting in the lower level, but anyone sitting up in the second level couldn’t see him. There was no video feed to show on the screen beside the stage. The people upstairs, me and my friend included might as well have been listening to a cd. I finally came back on stage for the last song and the encore. I would suggest if you are going to an upcoming seal concert to only buy tickets in the lower level and to get there on time. The Buggles were great and played Owner of Lonely Heart and other Yes songs. The audience responded very positively to their set. They continued to play as the band for Seal too. All very accomplished musicians. One of the back up singers was associated with Steely Dan. Good start mediocre finish to the night with Seal.
What gift to have Seal here in Vancouver- I have always loved his wonderful songs that have so much meaning and power imbedded into them. Thank you 🙏
It was a night to remember. Seal doesn't age. He's still as good as he was 30 years ago. He knows how to show his fans a great time. Massey Hall was the perfect intimate setting for this concert. The Buggles did a great job opening for Seal. Besides the favorite "Video Killed the Radio Star" they also gave a fantastic rendition of the Yes classic 'Owner of a Lonely Heart". Trevor Horn incidentally produced that record. We were in the balcony but I envy those on the floor as they had Seal in their midst. A fantastic concert that is definitely going to be etched in my memory for a long time to come.
He was absolutely incredible. A true class act. Loved the venue and loved listening to his incredible voice!
Seal was very charismatic and tried hard, his voice was deep and rich, music was good Visual effects were mediocre The sound in Massey hall was muffled.
Seal is a power force. His concert is amazing. Really nice to be there
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed a night with Seal. He was entertaining, warm, human and his voice is incredible. Thank you Seal for singing from your heart
Absolutely the best concert ever. Really enjoyed his interactive elements. He put his heart and soul into the concert, and he brought everyone along for the journey. Seal is a class act, and a wonderful person.
What a lovely evening listening to SEAL and enjoying his talent :)
Wow! What a show. The connection we felt with Seal was unreal. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience. If you haven’t bought tickets you need to go!!!!! Trust me
The ushers were great and my family and i were allowed to sit at better seats that were unoccupied. Seal was amazing & his voice hasn't aged a day
For an artist with so many hits, his humbleness, honesty, voice and presence made this concert one that I will never forget. I sincerely hope it won’t be too long before he returns to Toronto.
Had a wonderful time, Seal was amazing, and his band was great! My first time in this venue, loved the personable atmosphere, acoustics - great fun when he went into the crowd and danced and sang w us!
