Great for kids of all ages

by Dismount on 2014-12-30Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

When I first sat down with my 3 yr. old, I thought that this was going to be another run of the mill children's concert (the characters would come out, sing and dance then go off stage) boy was I wrong. During the first number, my son's eyes went wide as saucers as he watched the characters walk off the stage and right down into the audience. They were interacting with the children by giving them high fives and encouraging them to dance. This set the groundwork for the rest of the show. The characters all took turns interacting with the audience so that every child had their favorite character close to them. The songs were all right from sesame street skits. Elmo performed Mr. Roboto, Cookie Monster performed C is for Cookie, Roseeta performed Baila. The whole show was centered around the story of how Bert couldn't dance. All the characters helped Bert to overcome his fear and learn to dance.

    OK I guess

I expected more, my 3 year old seemed board and i found it to be a waste of money. I bought her her own seat to insure she could sit as she doesnt turn 3 till jan and was still free, to find out that the area was bare and other parents moved in front of me to get better seat.

    Dissatisfied

    by matrix007 on 2014-12-16Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

We paid for front row seating..... Children came to the front to dance with the characters was fine.... Didn't appreciate parents sitting on the ground in front of us and watching the whole show when they only paid for cheap tickets. How fair is that?

The kids enjoyed it, but it could have been better

by cabeau87 on 2014-12-12Edmonton Expo Centre - Edmonton

Originally I had picked tickets on the side based on the show being planned in the Arena. The show was moved to the Hall instead, and instead of being up higher, we were to the side on the floor. It was difficult to see and I ended up with 2 children standing on my lap to see the stage (which I'm sure probably caused issues for people behind me, but I tried to keep them out of lines of sight). They should have kept it in the arena or used risers so that little kids not in the front row could see properly. I had also chosen seats up from the ground as one of the children with me is uncomfortable with mascots (when they are close), so there were some issues with that as we ended up at the intersection of two aisles, and characters were walking quite close. Sound was poor and echoed, the characters were difficult to understand, but at least the majority of the time was singing/music. It was nice that the characters came and danced in the crowd, and I only wished they had stayed out a little longer so that the 2 year old could actually get a hug once he worked up the courage (by the time we got up to the character, they were heading back to the stage). Overall, though, the kids enjoyed themselves and that was the whole point. I do want to give parents considering it a heads up that confetti cannons are used right before the intermission and end, which can be loud and startling. But the kids loved picking up confetti and streamers after the show. Staff was helpful and friendly, and the lady at the souvenir stand was understanding when we exchanged a t-shirt for a stuffie. T-Shirts are $15, Stuffies range from $15-25 (cookie monster is $20). They walk out with a huge bunch of balloons during intermission. $10 a piece. There is a reminder before the show starts and restarts that balloons much be tucked under seats to not block anyone's view (but I could barely make out the announcement due to poor sound quality).

Sesame Street "Let's Dance" a disappointment

by TaraLee780 on 2014-12-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

We have attended numerous family events over the last few years, including a previous "Sesame Street" show that was amazing. This show was an hour long with a 15 minute intermission. We paid for "floor" tickets but the entire event was set up on the floor, with some bleachers at the back which offered a superior view. Our child could not see at all with the adults in front of her, but there was open space at both sides of the stage which became a dance floor for the children, which was excellent. This was a much smaller show than other shows we had attended but that was not reflected in the price. If I could do it over, I probably would not have bothered.

    Sesame Street

by Qwerty123 on 2014-12-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Our 2 year old enjoyed it, nice that the characters came through the aisles for the kids to get a closer look. However, seating was quiet unorganized since they switched venues and the sound was echoed so it was difficult to hear clearly. Not worth the money, only go if you can get tickets super cheap like through groupon.

    Cookie Monster and Elmo!!

Too expensive for the ticket pricing. Too many seats crammed together. Short concert. Balloons cost 10$ and were in everyone's way the entire show.

Excellent show for our little one

by shewe on 2014-12-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Sesame street live put on such a great show. Our 2 year old was so into the whole performance. It was great to see them come into the crowd and I really enjoyed being able to get up and dance with our little one. If they come back to town and our 2 year old is still into sesame street I will for sure buy tickets again. She is still talking about Elmo!
