  • Shane Gillis Blows the Roof Off!

by MLG on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From his epic entrance music, to every story and joke landing, the entire experience was phenomenal. Shane opted for the centre square stage which was a first for me (and in a comedy show veteran!). It worked reallllllly well. You could see him from any seat, AND there were more people in attendance because the footprint of the stage was smaller. It lead to a different energy in the building. Shane was genuine, funny, he thanked the audience, and high-fived his way out of the arena. A class act and funny as hell. Go see him, you won’t regret it!

  • Terrible Audio!

by Looking for Laughs on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

As expected, Shane was amazing, we think. The audio in our area was borderline terrible. It made it very difficult to clearly hear the comics. This may have contributed to the third opener, leaving the stage. We could not understand what he was saying. We have been to Scotia Bank Arena for many events, and have never encountered this trouble before. Sad!

  • Good set from Shane, terrible sound, terrible venue

by ComedyEnjoyer on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Scotiabank Arena was under renovations and getting inside was a total pain in the ass. Massive concession and bathroom lineups. Sound was absolutely god-awful in the 100s. Could barely hear anything. Shane was great, but the venue seemed as if they couldnt have cared less.

  • Horrible Audio

    by Boots88 on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

The parts of the show that I could make out were funny but the audio in the arena was atrocious and ruined the experience.

  • FANTASTIC

He crushed it I rocked back and forth laughing and crying. Will do it again next time he comes

  • Great show, some technical errors on the arena

by EY on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Show was great overall. The arena had some technical issues on the sound system that effected the show.

  • Shane Gillis @ Scotiabank

by OB on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Terrible idea to have hosted this at Scotiabank arena. From the very start, everyone in our section was complaining about not being able to understand what anyone on stage was saying... Then after leaving the venue, we heard everyone else complaining about the sound. There was such a rumbling reverb, we could barely follow any of the performance (our seats were quite close to the stage.) One of the openers had a very loud performance style, he was yelling and the sound didn't seem to be adjusted to accommodate this. Was distorted and all over the place. Probably best to skip the next show @ Scotiabank arena if it's a live comedy show, or for that matter, anything where you need to comprehend dialogue clearly...

  • Sound

by Hutchy on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The sound was awful, could hardly make any of the first three acts out. Shane was hilarious though

  • Shane was funny, sound was terrible

    by Jahdhajabh16667 on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The jokes we could hear were funny, but the sound system at Scotiabank arena is terrible. We missed almost all of what the openers were saying as it the sound was so muffled and somehow way too loud at the same time. It seemed like once Shane came on the sound stabilized a bit but we still missed a lot. Terrible sound quality for the price of the tickets. I would never go to another comedy show here.

  • Amazing comedy, Sound was off

by Eddie on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was great, my face hurt from laughing when I left. I have never seen Scotiabank set up like that before. Only issue was with the sound. The first act yelled and it echoed. I couldn't hear the 3rd act. The sound for Gillis was better, but I think his tone of voice/delivery made it easier to hear.

  • Horrible Audio Quality

by SB on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The audio was terrible. Echoing throughout the arena was very distracting and made following the sets difficult. Not a good venue for comedy, I will not attend another comedy show here. I would have paid more to see Shane at a smaller venue.

  • Shane gillis

by Kenshow on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Shane Gillis is the fucking man. He blew the top off Scotia bank arena. Definitely a guy I’d love have more than five bud lights with. We could discuss his terrible choice with football teams. Northern Illinois 16 Notre dame 14….. GO BLUE

  • Overall Smooth & Fun

by Carpenter Drew on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Ayo, what's good? To whom this may concern fam. Came from Hamilton with the boys to see Shane Gillis. Getting in was very fast, although I question the ease in which we got in, would've been easy to sneak in contraband or worse. So I question that. Security aside, the show went off without a hitch, except for that one comedian that got booed off, hope he's doing well. I still rate this experience a 5/5. Great work to all who made that happen. Give yourselves a raise.

  • Sound Quality was an Issue

    by K8Land on 2024-09-24Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

After looking forward to see Shane Gillis for months, it was a tremendous let down not being able to hear about 1/2 of his jokes due to sound quality. I know I wasn’t the only one either as other people in our section were literally screaming for someone to fix the issue. After the first sup par introductory act, I thought they were able to adjust the quality slightly but not so much. The other 2 openers were also very sub par with the 3rd guy actually being boo’d off stage! I paid good money to go to a show I enjoyed 1/4 of. Very disappointed. From what I did hear of Shane Gillis though, the guys a G & I only wish I could have heard his entire act.

  • Poor sound quality

Audio reverb was awful. Definitely affected the quality of the show.
