    National Show Choir is amazing!

by kmerg on 2014-04-16Main Stage Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - Toronto

My children and I were glued to our seats for the entire day! Anyone with smaller kids know that the show has to be pretty good to keep a 6 and 10 year old focused for over eight hours! The teams gave us 110% and their hard work paid off. We cant wait until next year!

Show Choir Canada needs to improve the 'show' part

by Anonymous on 2014-04-16Main Stage Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - Toronto

I am a huge fan of the high school show choir teams and have been to the championships for 2 years now. I wanted to go to this so I could see just the best, as most teams are not even close to the level of the top two schools (Wexford and ESA). The event was described as the 'winners' of the Canadian chamionship and the invitees from the states. I did not read closely enough as I assumed winners meant the top 3 or so. There were 6 Canadian teams performing! That is a lot of 'winners'. Most of them are not that great (yet! Sorry...). Only 2 American teams came. MOST disapointing was that Wexford hadn't entered this year! I was devastated. This meant that only ESA and the American teams were really of teh quality I was hoping the show would be. They need to tighten up the show. It was al ALL DAY thing. Very drawn out, somewhat disorganized...disapointing. Without Wexford in the mix, ESA just walks away with top spot. I will go next year if it is shorter (top 3 schools, 3 americans?) and be totally satisfied. For almost 50 bucks they need to improve the quality and organization of the show.

    Show Choir Canada was Gleeful!

by RossS on 2012-04-16Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Absolutely loved seeing the Show Choir Canada National Finals. The performances were incredible, the tension was palpable, and we loved being part of the action. Ready to buy tickets for next year – and we're not related to anyone that performed. It was that good!

    Great job done by all.

by sommy on 2012-04-16Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I have no affiliation to any of the schools competing and thought I was going to sit for a couple of hours then leave. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The effort to put that many kids together doing something so wonderful was really inspiring. We were happy for all the teams and their certain sense of accomplishment. I could see how this experience could be life changing for many of the kids.

Over the top with pure fun

by Collingwoodfan on 2012-04-16Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Some of the best singing, dancing, and acting one could ever hope to see. The fatc that these were students makes the experience all the more memorable. Made me wish we had schools like this when I was growing up - a place which would welcome joyous expression, Overall, one of the best theatre experiences ever - cannot wait until next year.

Show Choir Canada: National Finals was electric

by KathrynB on 2012-04-16Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Fabulous effort. Tremendous talent and showmanship. Better than many professional musicals I've seen. An emotional experience with many dramatic moments- both joyful and riveting, I was completely enveloped by the performers' experience. They layed it all out on the stage and stood proudly to hear the adjudication. Just an unbelievably powerful event to experience. I'm telling everyone I know to plan on attending in 2013. I'll be there. Host Shawn Desman was also excellent. Great choice. Excellent entertainment value!,

    Show Choir was absolutely phenomenal!

by dm0m on 2012-04-15Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

This performance is a "Diamond in the Rough!" I am not a parent or related to any of the performers, a mere spectator. I was inspired to go because of a TO Star review and of course I am Glee fan. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was greatly impressed. I had only planned to attend Friday but I enjoyed it so much I took my husband to the finals. We both had a wonderful time. It is too bad many think it is just for parents and family members. These young people were truly amazing. There was so much talent from singing to dancing and the back up bands were top notch. Shawn Desman did a wonderful job of host and kept the event moving. I was also impressed with the calibre of the judging and their critiques. Congratulations on an amazing event, George Randolph & Peter daCosta! I am really glad that I wasn't a judge because all the schools performing were outstanding, it was no doubt a difficult choice. But for sure congrats to Etobicoke and Wexford. I will be sure to attend next year.

    Show Choir Canada was Fantastic!!!!!

by sunshine69 on 2011-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Toronto

I was one of the fortunate people to attend the first ever Show Choir Canada. My daughters High School was one of the performeances. The event was simpy fantastic. The performers were awsome and very well received. It is about time that Canada showcased their tallented youth. My applause go out to Mr. and Mrs. Randoulph for their exceptional work and dedication to the arts. It is very sad that when cut backs happen, the arts is the first thing to go. Children and people need the arts in order to develope their own personality and place. I look foreward to next yuears event.
