About

Working off the success of 2011's Doggumentary, the iconic rapper-actor Snoop Dogg had a busy 2013, appearing in four films and embarking on a tour of America, New Zealand and Australia. Snoop has been the epitome of gangsta rap for over two decades: His tough, West Coast style and  ability to not take himself too seriously endears fans. Snoop brings all these traits to his live concert appearances, engaging ticket holders with good vibes while delivering the cool, subdued sounds he's known for. At the London Lovebox festival in 2011, Snoop could be seen sporting pounds upon pounds of bling, strutting onstage, his characteristic wave of the arms like that of a snake charmer hypnotizing the audience.

Once he made his appearance on Dr. Dre's The Chronic in 1992, Snoop skyrocketed to fame as one of the most identifiable performers. Raised in Long Beach, California, Snoop brought some of his real life hardships into his music. His trademark hair, laid-back voice, plus the grim reality implied in his lyrics all contributed to Snoop's reputation. His 1993 solo release, Doggystyle, proved to be Snoop's greatest achievement, reaching No. 1 on the R&B charts and the Billboard 200. "Gin and Juice" remains to this day an anthem of gangsta party life.

Doggumentary brought Snoop full circle, and was touted as something of a sequel to Doggystyle. Snoop teamed up with a great range of stars this time around. Bootsy Collins steps in on "We Rest n Cali." Gorillaz, Goldie Loc, Kanye West and even Willie Nelson show up to lend a hand throughout the album. Nelson's performance on the old-style country porch rocker "Superman" is not to be missed. One of the charms of this album lies in its handling of divergent styles.

where in the world is stephen marley?

by syannessence on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

im actually quite pissed off, because it was advertised that stephen marley would be there and he definatley was not. It was not announced that he was not there until the dj at the last intermission spilled the beans in an ever so nonchalant way. I payed mostly to go see stephen marley. SO my friend and i were udderly dissapointed. However We also wanted to see snoop dogg, and he gave a wikid preformance, that was fun, everyone was on their chairs dancing.....he played mostly old school stuff, and that was awesome...we definatley were not dissappointed with his performance......but seriously Where in the World is Stephen Marley???

BLAZED AND CONFUSED TOUR WAS AMAZING!!!

by kevbot on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

I was steady straight chillin to the good time vibes of slightly stoopid, then half pint made a guest appearance and i went crazy!! They rocked the house and the sound quality was so good. Snoop really knows how to work the crowd. Its one thing to listen to him on a cd, but to watch him live is a totally different experience. He gets everyone shouting, dancing, and waving their hands in the air. OVerall this was an unreal concert!

    Snoop Dogg was unforgettable!!!

by JamieS on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

The concert was amazing. This was my second time seeing Snoop in concert and I hope he comes again next year. Weirdo Beardo was ok....he was an opener. Mickey Avalon was great live, which I wasn't sure what to expect. I was just disappointed he didn't sing his notorious "My Dick" song. I went to the concert with sevral people and we all couldn't believe he didn't play it. We even heard other concert gooers talking about it. Slightly Stoopid were great live too, however the play for a long time and by the 6th song, we just wanted Snoop to come out and take over. Their music was awesome, however the Reggae type rap songs all sounded very similar in beat and none really stood out in my head at the end. When Snoop came out, everyone went crazy, I wish he would have played longer than 1hr10mins. But still, in that hour he really got the crowd going. He is always really interactive when he comes to takling to the crowd and having everyone yell lyrics or what not. He played a lot of old songs too, like I hoped and expected, instead of all of his newer stuff, which is still awesome. THEN ...his nephew Akon came on stage which was an AMAZING surprise, and they sang "I Wanna %&* You" together. The sound in the PC was pretty awesome for sound and the whole place was rocking. The tickets ended up going for $15 a week before the event, which is basically a giveaway for what you got at this concert. I bought my tickets 4 months before the concert and paid $40 but I don't feel ripped off at all, Snoop definitely gave me my money's worth. I would recommend this concert for anyone who wants to have a good time, enjoy some funky beats and be taken back with good old Snoop hits.

    it was good but..............

by kritters on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

I really enjoyed the concert but there was to big of a wait between the other bands and Snoop. I think that snoop was wonderful and i would go again. The line up for booze sucked and there should of been more places to get booze.

The Snoop Dogg performance was really awesome!! I feel Snoops performance could;ve been a little longer. Over all his performance was top notch!! so much fun!! Slightly Stoopid was different to listen to which was nice ,and his backdrop was the most fun to look at. Awesome performance very impressed and glad I went.

    Snoop Dogg is awesome!!!

    by kittiekate69 on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

I saw the show last night. It was amazing. Great performances and special guests. Never knew slightly stoopid but I like them now. Very mellow music. Alot of smoking in that small coliseum. Had to take an anxiety pill to lower my heart rate from breathing in the fumes. But very good concert and I would risk an anxiety attack again to see it. I'll never forget this event. Snoop dogg sounds just as good Live as on his C.D.'s.

    Ended too soon?

by laurizzle on 2009-07-23Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

I was loving the vibe, doobies everywhere, people dancing. Didn't like: no drinks on the floor, chairs that kept collapsing while dancing on them, and how the concert just kinda stopped out of nowhere. Overall a great night, just wished I was aware the show was ending...
