Unsure what to expect from Stings new journey with the orchestra, I trotted into the theatre thinking,"am I the youngest guy here or what?" Yup! I think the price of the ticket would have anyone skeptical, though upon the stage filling up with 50 musicians, it was the start to some of the greatest moments in my vast concert experiences. His choice of songs were fantastic as he mixed in some great gems from "Dream of the blue Turtles" and some obscure tracks from "All this Time", like "When the Angels Fall". As a musician, this was great to hear as it was my first song I learned to sing and play. When they took an intermission at 9:45 after "Next to You", we knew we were in for a an unbelievable night. The second half of the show was filled with some newer ballads, which I was not as familiar with, though the performance was fantastic. Two songs topped the evening: King of Pain and Desert Rose. When he started Desert Rose I thought, "oh yeah...this one....hmmm?" It was undoubtedy the best live performance of any song, anytime, on anyday(you get the picture) I have ever seen live. It was truly the magic of the night and the audience at this point would not let the poor guy finish...after 3 hours....so more they played....and then fragile of course....and then bows....and then still the poor guy...with nothing but and audience and a mic....does one more on his own. Women were crying around me....crap, I got caught up in a little sniffle too! This was the kind of show that inspired me to a level I cannot totally capture in words. If you missed this show, travel somewhere to see it! Lets not forget the Meistro! He was stunningly entertaining, without being foolishly goofy. Not sure you'll get that without seeing him.
