    Stuart McLean-Story Teller Extrodinaire

by Elat64 on 2010-10-17Abbey Arts Centre - Abbotsford

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Stuart. We have faithfully listened to The Vinyl Cafe for several years now so we knew what to expect. However, the show turned out to be far beyond our expectations ! The stories were funny and Stuart's presentation of them brought the stories to life. The music was splendid and we were so impressed we gave the entire ensemble a standing ovation. I hope we will be alive and well enough to see the Vinyl Cafe in person in two years time.

    Matt Anderson was amazing!

by Miwa on 2010-10-17Abbey Arts Centre - Abbotsford

Musically this was the best Vinyl Cafe yet. Matt Anderson is fantastic, the musical duels were geat, three new Dave and Morley stories - what more could you ask for. A terrific concert.

Outstanding concert, the music by Matt Anderson was amazing! Loved the stories, as usual. I'm a huge Stuart McLean fan and always enjoy his shows a lot.

Stuart McLean is a national treasure!

by Konzgirl on 2010-10-15Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

The show was wonderful. Stuart Mclean is, if possible, even better live than on the radio. He engaged the audience from the first moment and held it til the very end. The musical guest, Matt Anderson was a very talented blues singer and was engagingly backed up by the Vinyl cafe's pianist John Shearer, and a bass player whose name I have forgotten. We were treated to a full evening which started at 7:30 and didn't end til 10 after 10 - with a 20 minute intermission. I'm just sorry I didn't bring any cash with me to buy some cd's and the latest Vinyl Cafe book. I highly recommend this show and am looking forward to Stuart's next visit to Kelowna.

    McLean cleans it out!

by evdv on 2010-10-11Chan Centre For The Performing Arts - Vancouver

Conversation between McClean and CBC's Hal Wake. It was smooth, interesting and humorous. Wake seemed to be asking the right questions. Audience engagement was appreciated. Period for questions at the end was beneficial, as was a short 10min reading.
