About Summertime Brews Festival

Do you love beer? Like, do you really love beer? Well, if you live on the East Coast, you're in luck, because this summer will see another iteration of everyone's favorite craft beer event, the Summertime Brews Festival. The gathering is part of Triad Craft Beer Week, which takes place across High Point, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem during North Carolina's warmest summer month. The yearly event was founded in order to highlight the many outstanding beers of the region, and also to educate both imbibers and brewers about the many aspects involved in the tasty beers that we have the privilege of enjoying.

The 15th annual Summertime Brews Festival takes place on July 20, 2019, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the home of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's Spartans basketball teams. The venue has a capacity of over 23,000. There, patrons will have access to hundreds of beers, live music, and... did we mention hundreds of beers? Hosted by 107.5 KZL, Rock 92, and Everything Hemp, the festival features institutions like the Victory Brewing Company, Brooklyn Brewery, Southern Pines, Dirtbag Ales, and more.

Another highlight of the week's festivities is the American Brewers Palate Awards, which gives out accolades for the area's most outstanding beers. Past gold winners have included Mother Earth Brewing's Silent Night and Figs & Raisins brews, as well as Brueprint Brewing Company's Caldamentum Benedictus — a Belgian dark strong ale — and their Brett Saison. Silver winners have included Railhouse Brewing Company's Pineland Pale Ale and Ka-Bar Brown Ale, as well as Foothills Brewing's Malt Shaker Amber Ale, and other tasty suds.

The 2019 festivities include additional events like the Four Saints Beer Dinner at Melt Kitchen & Bar, and Homebrewer Appreciation Night hosted by Leveneleven Brewing and Big Dan's Brew Shed.
