About

T.J. Lavin is a world-renowned BMX rider, musician, and television personality whose career has spanned decades of groundbreaking accomplishments and resilience. A true icon in action sports, Lavin has competed in premier events including the X Games and Dew Tour, earning an impressive three bronze medals, one silver, and three gold medals--one of which was in Australia. Beyond the X Games, he has claimed titles such as DK Dirt Circuit Champion, Gravity Games Champion, European Champion, and CFB Champion. In 1995, Lavin was crowned the "King of Dirt."

Known for his dedication to the sport, Lavin even built a one-acre BMX track in his backyard, complete with meticulously groomed trails and dirt jumps.

In 2010, during a Dew Tour event in Las Vegas, Lavin suffered a life-threatening crash that left him in a medically induced coma. Despite the severity of his injuries, his determination shone through--he made a remarkable recovery and returned home just a month later. His comeback cemented his reputation not only as one of the most talented but also one of the toughest athletes in BMX history. Bleacher Report has hailed him as one of the greatest BMX riders of all time. In recognition of his achievements, Lavin was inducted into the USA BMX Hall of Fame on October 29, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Beyond BMX, Lavin is a self-taught musician who records and produces his own music from his home studio. His debut album, LAVS the First SET, showcased his creative versatility. In 2008, he released the heartfelt single "Soldier" in honor of his close friend Stephen Murray, who suffered a spinal injury during competition. All proceeds from the single were donated to the Stephen Murray Family Fund.

Lavin has also become a beloved television figure, known for his long-running role as host of MTV's hit reality competition series The Challenge (formerly Real World/Road Rules Challenge). He has hosted multiple spin-offs and specials for MTV and was featured on MTV Cribs as well as the documentary A Film About T.J. Lavin.

In his personal life, Lavin married his longtime girlfriend Roxanne Siordia on November 2, 2012, in Las Vegas--eight years to the day after they first began dating. He has one stepdaughter, whom he has since lovingly adopted.

From BMX champion to TV host and musician, T.J. Lavin continues to inspire millions with his passion, perseverance, and authenticity.
