    Getting better

by PinkApron on 2015-07-08Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

This event has improved from last year but the lineups for food and Nespresso were uncomfortably long (ie, waiting 1/2 hour for a burger and 1/2 hour for a coffee) at a 4 hour event. Also, the Delta VIP lounge was very disappointing - very unfriendly staff more concerned about counting tickets. The host was selective with who he would speak to. Looked like the entrance was manned by a bodyguard.

    Great food..but needs minor adjustment

by Anonymous on 2015-07-08Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

The venue was nice, great selection of food. The only thing I would change is the entry fee, we paid almost $60 for two people. The organizers should consider lowering the price or adding an incentive (ie. free $ on crown card, or free alcoholic drink with admission). Other than that, we had an amazing time.

by Ritesh on 2015-07-08Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

Great and unique food offerings. Lots of beverage options. Food prices range from $6-10. Drinks from $4-8 Oysters galore! Whitehaven wineries booth was my favorite. Great weather. Tons of people to meet.

    Overpriced for what you get

by TOgal77 on 2015-07-08Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

I wouldn't go back. Not sure what the $25 paid for let alone the $10 samples! Sure it's a great way to promote some TO restaurants but that's it. Never again.

My husband and I go to a lot of festivals in Toronto and we were really disappointed in this one. It was waaay to expensive! Ten dollars for a little paper bowl of food! Six dollars for three ounces of wine! We won't be going back to this one next year, even if it is right across the road from our condo! :(

    Tastew of Toronto

by kitchennut on 2015-07-07Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

Beautiful weather led to an amazing night out with my husband! Tasted many new wines, that we otherwise would not have known about. Sampled many new cheeses and foods, dips and spreads. If my 25 year old son had gone with us, he would have said, "See you at the gates at closing time, Mom!" Chance to mingle and relax above the stars, and get all gussied up. Almost felt like we were at someone's huge wedding reception with all the white tents. No line up was too long to wait, and the vendors and staff very helpful and relaxed. Would definitely recommend to all for an evening out. The location, perfect. See you next year! Thank you.

A "tasty" surprise plus good cooking tips

by Bigtravelfan on 2015-07-07Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

This was our first time at Taste of Toronto and we were pleased to have the opportunity to see one of the master classes. If you want to participate, we learned that you have to be on site when it opens to reserve (perhaps next year). The food choices were abundant and our selections were delicious. Although the lines were long (some worst than others), the food was prepared fairly quickly. Our group split up in separate lines to select items from different kiosks which allowed to taste more of "Toronto". There is very limited (to no) seating for the general public and as we had our small plates in hand, the few tall tables were fully surrounded/occupied. Luckily, I am an American Express card holder and was able to get seats at their courtesy tent where we enjoyed our meal and wine selections. Overall, we had a great time and have now added another list of restaurants we want to experience when downtown.

not enough chairs to sit and eat and plan which vendors to go and see no water stations, should have been 2 entrances and 2 exits, restrooms not posted properly

    Good food good times!

by R2d2k on 2015-07-06Fort York: Garrison Common - Toronto

Taste of TO had great food options....veg and non veg, samples and products. Weather was great. Fun atmosphere. VIP washrooms were not well maintained. Entry staff did not where to guide VIP customers. I did online auto top up but it did not work at the festival????
