Tears for Fears on Tour

Tears for Fears is so legendary that their unique interpretation of synth-pop is almost synonymous with '80s pop culture. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was even quoted referring to them as "the Beatles of the '80s." The group's masterful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics have captivated fans for over four decades, and now, they're back on the road for the trans-Atlantic The Tipping Point Tour. The tour takes its name from the duo's 2022 album, The Tipping Point, which is said to reflect the group's personal and professional "tipping points." The album's title track details life and struggles with grief and loss but does so in a characteristically uplifting way that only Tears for Fears can achieve. With such an emotionally charged yet upbeat album, fans can expect an unforgettable live show. Don't miss your chance to see Tears for Fears on their highly anticipated The Tipping Point Tour in 2022.

Tear for Fears Live in Concert

Tears for Fears was formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The two derived the band name from psychologist Arthur Janov's unconventional primal scream therapy. Inspired by synth-pop artists like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode, the group developed a unique sound that quickly gained a devoted following. The band released their debut album, The Hurting, in 1983. The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "Mad World" reached No. 3 in the UK and has remained popular since. The band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair, was released in 1985 and was an even bigger hit than their first. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum in the UK and U.S. It included hits like "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," which have maintained mainstream popularity to this day. The group split in 1991 after releasing their third platinum-selling album, The Seeds of Love, in 1989. Orzabal continued Tears for Fears as a solo act and released the albums Elemental in 1993 and Raoul and the Kings of Spain in 1995. Luckily, the pair reunited in 2000 and released the aptly named album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending in 2004. The band has toured since and released The Tipping Point in February 2022. The Tipping Point is their sixth UK Top 5 album.

    Tears for Fears was awsome!!!

by Mistal17 on 2009-07-13Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Fantastic experience to see Tears for Fears at such an amazing outdoor venue. Beautiful summer evening. Had great 3rd row seats and Tears for Fears were fantastic to see live. My only disappointment, and it is only a very slight one, was that they did not have a female back up singer to accompany on some songs, especially, Woman in Chains. Kudos for Michael Wainright to step in and attempt to hit those high notes but to have had Oleta Adams there as well would have put it over the top!!! I wish that they could have played longer than the 1.5 hrs. as it was one of those shows that you didn't want it to end.

    Worth the 1000km drive!

by longdriver on 2009-07-12Oregon Zoo - Portland

What needs to be said? Tears for Fears, live and at the zoo. I drove from Vancouver, BC to see the show because I'm a fan and I must say they delivered a really good sounding show.
