I have not missed a Barra NcNeils Christmas concert for the past 10 years. The concert in the NAC theatre had the best sound and ambiance. The audience was wonderful too. They should play there every year.
The Barras always put on a fantastic show, and their 20th Anniversary Christmas Concert at the NAC was no exception. They are a band I never hesitate to go see should time and finances allow.
Top notch show, fabulous musicians and entertainers! They really connected with the audience. Couldn’t have been better!
I have been attending the Barra MacNeils Christmas show for many years now and I am never disappointed. They become better with each passing year. Celtic Christmas music at its best. The NAC Asper theatre provided the group with the best show experience I have seen. I look forward to seeing the Barra MacNeils next time they visit Ottawa. The only disappointment is that they no longer have an Uilleann Piper in the group.
It has now become a Christmas tradition for us that the Christmas season officially launches with the annual Barra MacNeils Christmas Show. Truly a wondrous event and this year was no exception as the combination of music, humour. poetry and singing put everyone into the yuletide spirit. Until 2020.....
Venue was great, and acoustics were excellent. We enjoyed every minute of the concert.
The Barra MacNeils have oerfected this show over the years. This year in particular - everything was spot on.
I have seen the Barra MacNeils perform many times. The most striking characteristic beyond their stunning musicianship is that its has always felt like they have just just invited us over to their home rather than putting on a "performance. "
What a great way to start the Christmas Season. A group of amazing musician and they are Canadian it doesn't get any better.
This was our third time seeing them in concert in Winnipeg, and this was the best! The West End Cultural Center was a wonderful venue for the concert, very intimate setting. I love their music and they were just awesome! They started the Christmas season off in a beautiful way!
The Barra MacNeils were, as they have been everytime I have seen them, fabulous. Professional in quality, heartfelt in tone, and capturing the spirit of the Christmas season. This nearly annual event for us feels like having been invited to their home for Christmas. The Theatre space also deserves a mention. This was my first time in this space and it is a lovely and intimate setting for a concert such as this. Any seat in the house has good sight lines, letting you see the performers better than several other venues where I have seen this same group. As my daughter observed, "Look, they all have faces!"
