About

The Black Keys are a garage rock duo from Akron, Ohio made up of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Upon dropping out of college, the duo began making a number of self-produced albums together, including The Big Come Up (2002), Thickfreakness (2003), Rubber Factory (2004) and Magic Potion (2006). The band’s fifth studio set, Attack and Release (2008), marked a turning point — not only was it their first project to be recorded in a professional studio, but they also found a producer in Danger Mouse, who would go on to become a frequent collaborator. The Black Keys’ commercial breakthrough occurred with the 2010 release of Brothers and its 2011 follow-up El Camino. Both landed in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and the former earned the band their first Grammy win for Best Alternative Music Album. Their 2014 LP Turn Blue became their first No. 1 album on the all-genre chart, with later studio sets including Let’s Rock (2019), Delta Kream (2021) and Dropout Boogie (2022). The band’s twelfth studio album, 2024’s Ohio Players, will be supported by their 2024 International Players Tour.

    Black Keys and Modest Mouse

by Shards on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Unfortunately the sound quality was terrible for both bands. The drums were barely audible and back up guitar and bass could not be heard clearly. The show was good and both bands still played well from what we could hear. I spoke to a friend that was sitting in a different section than ours and she shared the same feedback.

Best quality sounding music at a arena I've ever heard. The black keys know how to sound good.

    It was totally awesome (:

by Best Concert Ever!!!!!!!! on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Wow, we are so blown away by the performance the Black Keys put on!!!! Everything about it was truly awesome!!!! The sound, the musicianship, the set, the lights, the artistic and colourful backgrounds that were so unique!!!! The set list was stellar too. My boyfriend said that he thought the only other concert he has ever been too that was close to as good as this one was, was Metallica at Roger Arena!!! We are huge fans of The Black Keys and they did not disappoint, we’ll be telling everyone that we know what an incredible show, energy and experience our night was for a very long time!!!!

    Black Keys Vancouver

by John S on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

First off, the Keys and Modest Mouse were fantastic, great show! That being said, the venue needs to get better organized about floor seats. If you buy platinum tickets in the 2nd row, should you constantly have people coming up and standing in front of you who have come from rows further behind, who get to stay there until finally security comes and gets them to move??? Basically this should not happen. tOtally acceptable if this was GA format on the floor but not for reserved seating and especially not for platinum pricing.

    Black Keys

by shaggadelic on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Shannon and the Clams slammed us with their California roll-in-the-surf sounds and fantastic vocals. Modest Mouse (who I was there to see) also had extraordinary vocals and more than mighty drumming. Black Keys opened the door to hit after hit and had everyone happy-dancing in the aisles between seats. Lots of smiling faces around us! My only negative was there were no big screens and the individual artists were not easy to see. Black Keys had some magnification but speakers kind of blocked it. I realize that's a production issue and not something Ticketmaster would have control over.

    Out of time

    by M. B. on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Sound for opening acts was unfortunately terrible. Really enjoyed the set and the sound improved somewhat for the Black Keys, but they were off tempo. I’ve seen them before and they were really tight, this night was not a great one for them.

    Black Keys rocked

by Juliette on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I missed the first band. Modest Mouse, the second band was really good. Their sound was a bit off but they were an excellent warm up to The Black Keys. Loved them. The whole night was fun. The venue staff are great, our seats were good. Love events at Roger's Arena.

    Weird volume levels

by Lala on 2019-11-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Three bands played, Shannon and the Clams were good, Modest Mouse was too loud, was hard to hear the vocals over the wall of sound from the band. Black Keys were fabulous if not a bit quiet in parts.

Good ol' Rock 'n Roll show

    by B on 2019-11-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The Black Keys perform a classic Rock 'n Roll show, flat out. Excellent show, no complaints on their performance. Openers Modest Mouse were terrible, but good headliner. The seating selection however, I had an issue with. There is nothing in the seat selection process to say the seats I selected were 2 feet lower than the section in front of me. Not a major issue for a hockey or basketball game where the action moves, but a real issue for a concert. I thought I was getting aisle seats with a clear view, but what I got was aisle seats 2 feet lower than the section in front of me. Almost obstructed view.

    Great night!

by Mollie on 2019-10-17Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hubby and I splurged on floor tickets, 11th row and were not disappointed! I have to mention a very sweet gesture from an employee, whose name I didn't catch, when we realized we forgot our concert ear plugs, she didn't hesitate to get some foam plugs for us! It was a little thing but we go to a lot of concerts and I hadn't forgotten my plugs in ages and it really meant a lot to us. I like the idea of keeping my hearing for the rest of my life so, thank you! :) I do wish the Black Keys had played longer but I ALWAYS wish that! Cheers!

Great show, a little late in starting.

by DetailBoi on 2019-10-15Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Really enjoyed The Black Keys. There seemed to be some sound issues with the opening acts, mainly that it was too loud and distorted to enjoy. Thankfully it seemed that when The Black Keys took the stage, the sound was much better. The only thing I'd criticize regarding the show is that The Black Keys didn't take the stage until 9:30. It may be because of my age, but starting that late on a "work night" meant that I had to leave before the end of the show in order to catch a train back home. I can understand shows starting late at clubs or bars, but at a venue like this it's expected that the show begins at 8:00 or 8:30.

    Black keys concert

    by K. Z. on 2019-10-14Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The black keys were amazing but ticketmaster charged way too many fees, just include it in the price next time so you dont see tickets for 80 bucks and end up spending 120

More attention needs to be paid to acoustics

    by K. on 2019-10-13Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

No doubt the band's are amazing. And I'm sure arenas are not the ideal location for live performances. But everything sounded pretty muddled. I would be hesitant to see a live band here again.

Cool show, all bands were great

by Just a Music Fan on 2019-10-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Cool show, all bands were great. Saw The Black Keys last time they were here (2015) Much better show this time round. Still a huge fan of the music. Modest Mouse was a surprise that was a great set, Jessy Wilson caught the last 2 songs loved what we heard

    I love The Black Keys

by Love the band hate the venue on 2019-10-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

They would be much more enjoyable (not to mention more affordable) at a smaller, intimate venue, like the Danforth Music Hall.

    Awesome

by Canuck on 2019-10-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

First time seeing the black keys, went with my wife, we loved it, I thought they sounded great (although I generally don’t like indoor arenas for sound). Great vibe and awesome play list. We had tickets on the end of the aisle which was convenient. As usual I’m appalled by the price of beer here, JC. I’d like to see them live again somewhere else.

    Good music

    by M. A. on 2019-10-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Good concert, with good music from fantastic band. Just think small venues are maybe the best option for The black keys.
