About

Guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney make up the blues rock powerhouse that is The Black Keys. The duo has come a long way from their early days recording in an Akron, Ohio, basement to their current ability to sell out tickets to a Madison Square Garden concert in just 15 minutes.

After their 2002 debut dubbed “The Big Come Up,” The Black Keys developed an underground following which they satiated with intimate tours and new releases every couple years. The 2010 unveiling of “Brothers” marked the start of their commercial success, as tracks like “Howlin’ for You” and “Tighten Up” received regular rotation on Top 40 stations nationwide. Not to mention the three Grammy Awards the group took home for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “Tighten Up” and Best Recording Package.

The group’s most recent studio effort, 2011’s chart-topping “El Camino,” incorporated surf rock and rockabilly influences which pleased many and earned them another four Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album.

The Black Keys are kicking off a 2019 North American Tour called "Let's Rock" as a headliner at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 21. Modest Mouse will be touring with them on all dates. Openers at other select shows include Shannon & The Clams, *repeat repeat, and Jessy Wilson.

You have to buy prime ticket to really enjoyed

by Cham on 2022-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The concer over all was ok, but I could have better experiences before at the Roger’s arena. The scenario was good but the size of the screams tha re transmitted the live concert were so small, and the shot that were on the screens was on an open take so if you are from far away you can’t really see whats going on on the scenario. This just happened with the first two bands. When it takes time for the main band black keys everything suddenly just gets fixed. Seems like the transmission crew for the Roger’s arena didn’t take seriously the first two bands. I hope this can change for future concerts as I have booked a couple more at the Roger’s arena.

    Amazing!

by Marni on 2022-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

All around amazing show. One of the best concerts we’ve ever been to hands down. Vocals and sound were incredible. it was a good old fashioned rock concert with a few jam sessions. Would pay to see the Black Keys again any day of the week!

    Wow

by Nelly on 2022-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Both Band of Horses and Black Keys killed it! I still can’t believe that the Black Keys played for 2 hours straight. Well done and next time you should play in Edmonton!

    Intimate and amazing

by Tamatha Banks on 2022-10-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Black Keys put on an amazing show! Dan and Patrick fill the place with sound. They are both so talented and kill it on their instruments. Dans guitar skills are next level! their bluesy rock and roll vibe was authentic. They put on an amazing show, played all their best songs plus a couple of unknowns and their simple stage set up and light show was amazing. Band of Horses as opener were fantastic - we are huge fans and our only complaint was that they did not get much time. Velveteers were less than good and took too much time and BOH was left with a short set. Disappointing since Velveteers were not very good. Overall though the concert was incredible and did not disappoint!

Great band - but not a great set

by notenoughdays on 2022-09-18Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The band sounded great but brought out a specaial guest and played a bunch of songs in a row from one older album - not what we came for.

    The Songs Make Them Different

by Will Coke on 2022-09-14Budweiser Stage - Toronto

It’s not quite Memphis blues, is it? Not at all, I don’t think. The dynamics take the shape of a Memphis blues but Patrick Carney and great design behind very strong songwriting show a different and more floral side to songs than you get from that steeped tradition. Little black submarines features twang but if you played it on strings alone you get a mournful reflection more out of New Orleans or even something classical. Great dynamics. I’d just rather see your band beside you than behind you unless you wanna go alone.

Great Show, Venue ... should be on mor ealert

by MARK on 2022-09-13Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Went to see The Black Keys with my family great show (all of it with the two opening bands). I had my 9 year old son as his first concert, seated him at the isle ... well the show started and there was nothing but people congested in the isles. I was expecting staff to show up advise people to get back to their seats ... that did not happen. So my son had his 1st concert being blocked in and seeing nothing. No reflection on the band, they were great (only in sound for my son) but the venue needs to police the isles (it being a fire exist as well). -Mark

Sound wasn't great, sounded a bit muddy. Performance wise, show was great, but the sound person that night didn't do a very good job.

    Band was Excellent

by JamesBlonde on 2022-09-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Band was excellent, everything I was expecting from them ! Venue is great, weather was amazing. Was on the lawn but still the sound was great ! Would have been 5 stars if parking at the venue was available. If it's going to be unavailable, it would be nice to give other parking options near by for those who are not from Toronto.

    Good not great.

by Mark T on 2022-09-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Strong opening for the Keys but they went too Bluesy for too long. They’ve got such an amazing catalogue of music that they left on the shelf for the show. It definitely took the energy out of the stadium. When they were on they ripped but it didn’t happen enough

    The Black Keys

Great concert by the Black Keys

by jogogreen on 2022-09-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The Black Keys put on a very good show. They sang the bulk of their hits and samples of some of their new material. They just play their music and don't do a lot of audience participation/interaction, so no real special moments. I love this band but I get a sense that their show is the same every night (insert city name).

    Great band, lawns are terrible!

by Laura O on 2022-09-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

2 reviews… 1. The Black Keys were awesome! I’d see them again anywhere but Bud Stage… They sounded great and the crowd was into it! 2. With the cost of ticket prices you would think Bud Stage could offer something more permanent for their lawn tickets… Obviously buying lawns bec I don’t need to ‘see’ them close up BUT they are ridiculously slippery, muddy & people are territorial about their square foot. I’ve seen many bands fm the lawns over the years… really, it’s time to upgrade them to something better! $100 to stand on a muddy/slippery hillside with irate ticket holder is my takeaway of the night sadly…

    Boring

by Concert Gal on 2022-09-09Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Love the Black Keys. Like the Band of Horses too. Bought both their shorts 😉. We go to a lot of concerts. Horses were good. Keys had a long period where they played new stuff and honestly, it all sounded the same. They played a few of their hits and missed so many. Unfortunately, like us, many left early which I’ve never done before. Too bad.
