Absolutely stunning show. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. The Bros. Landreth is a huge contribution to good Canadian music!
I listened to the CD and looked them up on Youtube, but seeing The Brothers Landreth live at the NAC 4th Stage absolutely blew my socks off. Joey (lead vocal/guitar) has wonderful presence on stage, but more to the point, a deep well of soul in his singing and playing. Ariel Posen (guitar/vocal) shapes wonderful chordal colours into the original material and his virtuosic solos and guitar duets made me hungary for the next one. He is also a super tight harmony singer. Cody on drums, a solid and lean player, sat comfortably in the groove and was always a tasty part of the arrangement. Brother Dave unfortunately was absent, but their dad Wally Landreth (bass/vocals) was parachuted in for the first part of the tour. I've always known him to be a monster musician and great singer/writer and this evening he made his sons proud. He was a delight to listen to and watch. And they are ALL just simply great people. Three days after the show, I'm still on a bit of a high.
Great show! I never heard of them until my wife bought tickets. These guys have great music and entertained us for the entire evening. Thanks Bros!
The Bros. Landreth are from our prairies, and if you are too, this show/their songs will genuinely pull on your heart. You will know instantly the images and feelings their songs evoke..... huge Manitoba sunsets, oak trees and farmers fields and pennies on railway tracks. It's like watching a campfire burn down to embers while your arms are around your love, that's the complete, contented feeling their music leaves with you. The show and their album Let it Lie, is a sweet balance of all their talents, patching together pulsing driving rock, heartfelt folk roots, romantic country guitars, and woven through every-which-way with their exquisite harmonies (think the Eagles, when they give you Tappin' on the glass). They are young, new talent, and this night was our chance to send them off to their first great tour. They will make great moments and mistakes along they way, but don't miss the chance to receive this raw, new, genuine gift.
If these guys have an off night I haven't witnessed it! Commanding performance from beginning to end. Ariel and Joey's guitar work melds and blends seamlessly while David and Ryan's Bass and Drums provide a solid launching point for the groups sonic efforts. Combine this with spirit stirring vocals, throw in a driven cover of " let em in".........magic! Catch these guys while you can, they are truly on a meteoric rise!
AMAZING harmonies! You could have heard a pin drop during their acappella song. Their performance took my breath away. Love the album! Incredibly talented group! What an inspirational night of music. Can't wait to hear them again!!
i first saw the bros landreth at the folk festival in winnipeg and was blown away by their harmonies. seeing them in the awesome venue of the should-still-be-called-walker-theatre made it even better. their harmonies, the story telling, the atmosphere - perfect. their almost-acapella ballads are goosebump-inducing and their upbeat songs are contagious! if you get a chance to see them, you should!
It was my fourth time seeing The Bros. Landreth, and this was the best yet! The brothers were in their element, and were obviously very grateful for their warm hometown reception. Can't wait for their next album!
Really enjoyed the show and venue and the Bros. always meet my expectations. Loved the warm up act but didn't enjoy the lack of synergy with the Dirty Catfish band. Seemed out of place and co-ordination was missing.
These guys are so talented it's ridiculous. I had the pleasure of first hearing them when they opened up for Dwight Yoakam two years ago. I've been hooked ever since! Their harmonies are unreal and their songs are catchy as heck! Sooo good.
The WECC was alive with the great music of the Bros Landreth. Great to see Winnipegers of all ages enjoying the great music and having fun with the band.
What a nite! Concert was amazing from the warm ups to the main event. Never thot you could have such a light show in such a small venue! Loved the Landreth songs and soul. These guys are gonna take the country by storm starting with this sold out show!
The Bros Landreth concert was such an exceptional show that I just have to post my feedback. I was not very familiar with the Bros. when I bought my ticket, but love Red Moon Road and figured if they were the warm up, how bad could the headliner be. Well the Landreth brothers blew me away. The boys and their band are exceptionally talented musicians with such genuine heart and obvious love of their craft. I enjoyed their music and their energy so much that I left the concert feeling such joy and contentment, and truly inspired to let passion lead me in my journey. Having the boys' father introduce them set the tone for the evening and he was not kidding when he said the evening was about love. The gratitude and humility that Joey showed with his emotional thanks to the audience was priceless. Between the exceptional music and their energy, its impossible not to fall in love with these young boys! I bought their CD after the show and have listened to it every day since the show. I bought tickets to Sweet Alibi this weekend as soon as I saw that the Bros Landreth are the warm up!
Super talented band, it was a great experience to be a part of their cd release show! They put on a great show, complete with organ, french horns, and ripping guitar solos. We can't wait to see them again!
