The Dead South have never been about constant reinvention, but about full commitment to their own singular way. With confidence in their sound and style and trust in each other, The Dead South arrive at the cusp of explosive global success in an enviable, and well-earned, position: total autonomy. It doesn't really matter what you call their music - progressive bluegrass, alternative Americana, country, folk and western, what matters is that this is theirs, and people from all different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, languages and ages love it.
True blue right through, The Dead South don't shy away from ruffling traditionalists' feathers from time to time, as they flawlessly execute banjo rolls and lightning-fast mandolin tremolos, 3-part harmonies and songs of classic themes -murder ballads, disloyalty, ghosts and the like, all with a wink and a smile. As they continue their climb to the top, The Dead South have learned an important lesson: If you're going to be outsiders, you'd better be great.
Confirmed by the passion of their Dead South cosplaying fans, who go to concerts in the band's signature look, this four-piece acoustic set from the middle of the Canadian prairies have found their people. Good Company, as they call themselves, is a global community of vastly dissimilar folks who might not see eye to eye, but who stand shoulder to shoulder at the gigs.
From the acoustics in Edmonton, the crowd, the band they did not disappoint. They are amazing on record. But live. Oh my goodness a whole new level. I cannot wait for them to come back and do more shows. I’d buy tickets to ever single one. The opener was a different change that I wouldn’t have ever picked to listen to. But they didn’t disappoint either! Thank you to everyone who put it on!
Awesome concert! The commodore ballroom was such a great venue for these guys. The acoustics were amazing! Cannot wait for them to come back!!
The Dead South were awesome, can’t really say the same about the opener though. Commodore never disappoints! Has to be me favourite venue for sure!

This is an amazing band to see live. They bring all sorts of people into one venue. From metal heads, classic rock, blues, blue grass… fans of all backgrounds were there. Great show, great atmosphere, will definitely be going again.
Hey, so many bearded guys at the concert! They should have had a beard contest. Everyone sang, danced, and woo-hooed. These guys are absolutely amazing musicians, songwriters, & performers.
The Dead South are an amazing group of talented musicians while being absoloutely captivating to watch. So glad I decided to get tickets to their show.
The Dead South put on an amazing show! Sounded even better than recordings. They have a great stage presence and it’s nice to see the band enjoying themselves as well. I could go see them every weekend! The venue, History, is a great place to see concerts.
Second time seeing these guys and not disappointed!!! Beyond talented musicians, stage presence just wow!!!! The venue, History was awesome, the sound is incredible!!
The band and sound were awesome. I didn't expect the background and lights to be so incredible!! It really added so much to the show and made my photos look outstanding. Great show, great staff, great venue. I will be back 12/10 *thumbs up emoji* -Chris
One of my best friends, our two sons and I attended Sunday night at History in Toronto. First of all, what a great venue. Benjamin Dakota Rogers was the perfect opener as well as a great local talent in his own right! First time seeing both, and we were treated to a great performance. I'm always in awe of how much talent exists everywhere. All the members of the band bring the highest level of musicianship to the table to produce a sound you feel in your soul. If I closed my eyes, their music placed me up north at the cabin. Feeling the warmth of the fire in the wood stove, while sipping on a quality glass of whiskey and sharing the room with great friends telling even greater stories! This is where this music puts me. Cheers gentlemen!
I got hooked on the Dead South music during the quarantine. I have read that they are quite good live. This was the 1st opportunity to see them perform. They were not just good but GREAT! Unbelievable instrumental skills and amazing energy.
The concert was great. They were amazing performers, high energy and you didn’t want the show to end it was so fun :) I hope they come back again soon
I think this is the fifth time we've seen TDS and this time it was good, but not great. Venue was great, once we all got in with our oversized bags! We werent aware there was a bag size restriction, now bare in mind what we had was by no way huge, it was a messenger bag. Originally we were not being left in, thankfully we got to check our bag and could enjoy the concert. TDS, energy seemed to lack at the venue, the crowd were a bit deadpan and this seemed to hit the band too, which is understandable. It was good but not great. Venue is lovely, sound is amazing.
Great venue. Quick to park and get in. Thorough security check which is great and no biggie. Friendly staff. Amazing lights and sound. Very clean and well thought out. We love going to concerts at history.
The best ever live performers I have seen. They play great, they give it all, they are pleasant and make you feel like one of their own. Crowds sense that and respond with enthusiasm. Speaking of the crowd ... I saw them in Montreal and, being from Golden, BC, oh boy fans here get really going !!! Best show ever !
This is a great band to see live! They jam on their songs and mix it up a lot. They seem to love being on stage and getting the crowd going. My only complaint is the venue- the acoustics are terrible up on the balcony.
Excellent performance by The Dead South. Vocals were loud and clear. Instruments were on key. Had everyone jumping and dancing. They even spoke French to the crowd as it was in Montreal. I want to see them again already!
These guys always put on a good show! A unique and energetic show from beginning to end!
Real! Definitely a genuine experience and I expect them to go far. I will see them again live every chance I get.
