  • Blown away.

by Jordan on 2024-08-02Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Let me preface this by saying this was my first time ever seeing The Decemberists live. I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't a superb lightshow, a comedy show and music that was somehow even more amazing than my already high expectations. If you ever get the chance to see them you should ABSOLUTELY jump on it. Potentially the best show I've EVER been to. Phenomenal show all around.

  • Sublime

The Decemberists had an amazing setlist and performed extremely well. Kudos to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre staff for continually reminding people that the expectation was that they stay seated during the concert.

  • A good show but....

by MikeF on 2024-08-01Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The QE theatre in Vancouver is a great venue for live music. The acoustics are very good. I was a little surprised at the overall volume for a pretty posh theatre. It was a pretty loud show. The opener Ratboys were solid. Good Chicago indie rock act and I was happy that they got a good mix. Decemberists were very good and played a few songs acoustically before settling in for the rest of the set. I was a little disappointed they didn't play a whole lot of their most recognizable material. They used to play Sons and Daughters as their encore as a grand singalong, but that's not the case anymore. Bummer.

  • Phenomenal concert!

The Decemberists (and the Ratboys) put on a great show. It was a perfect mix of old and new, and Colin Meloy was a genius of artistic expression. The trumpet player was a master, and the band was great. The stage and lights added to the experience. I plan to see them in the future.

  • They charmed! - Vancouver, Canada

by LauraS on 2024-07-30Rating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show! Powerful performance by all members. They drew the audience in with their eclectic mix of instruments, and set list that started with slower numbers, then morphed into a powerful sound that turned hits such as Joan in the Garden near the end of the show into a full bodied trip with background graphics and light show to further mesmerize the crowd.

  • Americana at its best

Fantastic show, fantastic venue. Colin Meloy is a true showman. Loved the set and History is the best venue. Other places in Toronto have nostalgic charm, but you cannot beat the acoustics at History. And the fact that it's just so clean and there's never a lineup at the bar.

  • This band never disappoints

by Carmichael guy on 2024-05-09History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Every tour has a varied set list and never disappoints! Front man Colin has amazing crowd interaction and stage presence not to mention the man can sing! The banter among the band was great!

  • Awesome show!

I fell down the stairs on the way to the show but I went anyway. I wouldn't have wanted to miss it. Torn ligaments in my foot, but I'm glad I went!

  • Decemberists at the Sony Centre

by Jajk on 2018-06-04Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the Decemberist’s live show at the Sony Theatre. Acoustics were great, seating unobstructed and the opening act was a perfect fit. Even with his vocals getting horse it was a spectacular show, highly recommend seeing this band live!
