The Hives are a Swedish rock band known for their energetic live performances and hit songs. The 2023 album The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons marked their first release after a decade-long hiatus. Led by frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, the band has a distinctive style that includes dressing in matching black-and-white tuxedos on stage. As for their sound, The Hives were an integral part of the garage rock revival of the early 2000s. With a lineup that has remained consistent over the years, including members like Nicholaus Arson and Chris Dangerous, The Hives have left a lasting impact on the music industry with albums like 2000's Veni Vidi Vicious and 2012's Lex Hives. "Hate to Say I Told You So," the first single from Veni Vidi Vicious, peaked at number 25 on the US Mainstream Rock Billboard chart.

    What a freaking fantastic show from The Hives! I'd heard that they are top performers but clearly that can be subjective. Top performers and then some! They were on point musically, brought an insane amount of energy and the audience engagement was like nothing I've ever seen before! Oh and they're funny. Like really funny. Bummer they had to play at History-it's a rubbish venue with horrible views unless you're in one particular spot or down on the floor. I'd definitely go see them again, but hopefully at a better venue!

    The Hives put on one of the best rock shows I've ever seen at History. They played a killer setlist and rocked the house for nearly 2 hours. Howlin' Pelle's energy was infection amongst the crowd. The vibe was unreal from start to finish. See these guys if you have the chance.

    The Hives never disappoint, been seeing them for 20 years and it’s always the same energy with Howlin Pelle as the charismatic leader he always is. The only thing that felt strange and slightly uncomfortable were the lights being almost fully on during a lot of the their songs, hard to let go when everyone can see you dance!

    The Hives: BEST band with the most interactive live experience you will ever have. They were full of energy and beyond entertaining! Pelle has so much energy and doesn't hesitate to include the fans whether it be though banter or actually venturing into the crowd. The energy that is emitted is contagious and unmeasurable! I couldn't stop dancing for the whole show. The Venue: History was one of the most amazing venues we have been to for a live concert event. It is set up perfectly to accommodate for concert goers of all kinds. The staff were FANTASTIC and made our experience that much more wonderful. We drove 15 hours for this show and we don't regret a single thing; we 100% would do it all over again.

    I am applauding the band and the show organizers! The light and the sound were tuned well. The band’s performance was outstanding: very engaging and entertaining! I am looking forward to see Hives back to Toronto in years to come.
