i didn't realize that Manhattan Transfer has been together for 40 years . . . not only do they still sound great singing their classics (tuxedo junction, java jive, route 66, birdland), but they're still pumping out new fantastically complex and amazing harmonies. thoroughly enjoyed it.

    What a Shame!

The Manhatten Transfer concert on May 29 was not to be missed. Sadly, many seats were empty. This was not the fault of the group; the promoter seemed to miss advertising this group more effectively. Tiny advertisements in the paper are not acceptable. After 40 years of hits, this group might have sat on their laurels and presented only the hits of their past. However, the sheer deliciousness of their new endeavour, The Chick Corea Songbook, proves that when you are musically gifted and trained, you can sing anything! For the jazz enthusiast, this new album is a much needed addition to your collection.

    Vocal pyrotechnics!

by Teleking on 2010-05-30The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - Vancouver

Absolutely, thoroughly enjoyable. The only disappointment is that they did none of their hits. Don't get me wrong, I loved the show. I would have loved to hear Operator, Boy fron NY city, Trickle Trickle, Chauson L'amour etc. Not one single hit was performed! Still great but those are the songs that made me a fan in the first place.
