    Sadies do it again!

by Stauch on 2014-11-04West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

The Sadies love playing in Winnipeg! And we love going to their shows. So keep coming back! The opening act NQArbuckle was short changed because they seem to have too much to offer to be a warm up act. So they too can come back anytime. But as headliners! Anyway the Sadies show was terrific and their willingness to play extended encores much appreciated. The only drawback is in the sound mix. Their guitars rule but as a result the vocals and vocal harmonies are relegated to the background. Is this the only way to go? In future they should consider bringing up the voices a notch.

    The amazing Sadies

by TMB61 on 2013-10-22Arden Theatre - St Albert

There was 6 of us that attended the Sadies concert - ranging in age from 20 all the way through to 85. There was not one of us that weren't "aw struck" by their incredible talent!!! What a show - here's hoping they come back soon!!!! Absolutely amazing!!!!!

The Awesomeness That Is *The Sadies*

by MercuryJane on 2012-03-29National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I love The Sadies so when I heard about their shows at the NAC I just had to go!! I hadn't seen them in about seven years so I was stoked!! The venue was awesome, especially for this old folk who can't handle late night bar shows any more!!

    "You guys have been practising"

by soulmoxie on 2012-03-25National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

That was a comment from an audience member at the NAC after the first couple of numbers from the Sadies. For it is true that the apparent mission of the Good brothers is to blow the audience away with speed and technical proficiency. It's pretty much blazing guitars from start to finish, with nary a let-up from 100 mph. And there are times when the noise becomes almost intolerable -- at least to me. I've gotten kinda out of the habit of rock concerts for a while, and whenever I put my toe in again that seems to be the predominant impression - god, these things are loud! (After one number Dallas made a public apology to Natalie McMaster who was playing at the other end of the building: "I think she heard that one".) I saw Hugh Cornwell at another tiny venue in Ottawa a couple years ago, and it was the same thing - just noise, hugely abetted by Clem Burke on drums flailing the hell out of them, even during "Golden Brown" for God's sake. Taste, sophistication and anything related to restraint are just thrown out the window - and by artists who should know better. The Sadies have been around long enough to have heard about pacing a show, but it is seemingly a foreign concept to them. if you don't mind the speed and volume, however, and especially if you're a guitar freak, you can't do much better than the Sadies. The songs are decent, the playing is excellent. I really love their genre, this mystical cowboy music, and I would have liked this show better if it had been a little slower once in a while. I prefer their records, because then you can actually listen to the music, instead of being run over by it.

    Sooo Groovy!

by jackelllll on 2012-01-03The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

As a freshly 19 year old student I was impressed to say the least. Great bar tenders as well, even in a packed bar. Would attend for the next 25 years if I had the option.

Abrams Brothers, Good Brothers, The Sadies ROCKED

by beefy on 2011-09-10The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

I missed whatever was before the Abrams brothers, but them, the Good Brothers, and the Sadies are more traditional country bands who boast incredible musicianship. Each band mentioned was impressive, and makes me want to hear more of their material. I've seen The Sadies before and they play a great show every time, it shows their true musical ability when the live shows are just as great if not better than their recordings. It was a great event, I was happy to see Sadies again and to see two other bands which impressed me greatly.

Best New Years in a while

by Singtao on 2011-01-02The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto

The Sadies have been doing a New Years shoe at the Horseshoe for ten years now. I've been to a few. They are all among my best. Hands up if you've never seen the Sadies live. All those with their hands up, have something to do before they can say their life is complete.
