The SpongeBob Musical on Tour

A legendary roster of GrammyÂŽ Award winners. A visionary director and a Tony AwardÂŽ-winning design team. One of the world's most beloved characters. Turn them loose on stage and what do you get? The bold, original musical The New York Times declares, "BRILLIANT!"

"Wonders pour from the stage in a ravishing stream of color and invention" (Time Out New York) as Broadway's best creative minds reimagine and bring to life the beloved Nickelodeon series with humor, heart and pure theatricality in a neon-sparkly "party for the eyes and ears" (Daily Beast). Be there when SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face catastrophe—until a most unexpected hero rises to take center stage. This "creative explosion" (Broadway.com) is "nothing short of genius" says Theatermania, so bring the entire family to celebrate friendship and cooperation, and learn the power of unity and inclusion.

Get ready to enjoy the "Broadway Extravaganza" (The New Yorker) that New York Magazine calls "effervescent candy-for-the-spirit." Explore the depths of theatrical innovation in NICKELODEON'S THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, 2018 Best Musical winner of the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards, where the power of optimism really can save the world.

I had been wanting to see this show ever since it was announced to go on Broadway. It did not disappoint! The cast was so talented, the music was fun, and the production quality was unreal! We were very happy with the event and wish it would have stayed longer so we could have seen it a second time. Bravo to all involved!

All I can say is wow! What an amazing experience. The music, the props, the choreography were all fantastic. I have seen a lot of musicals in my life and this was hands down the best I have ever seen. People laughed at me when I told them I was going to see Spongebob on Broadway. Zero regrets!

    A fabulous show!

by R. R. on 2019-12-23Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

A musical based on a kids' cartoon about a talking sponge? Yes, and I can't remember a musical that was more colourful, funny, and just plain enjoyable...I've been singing the songs to myself ever since. Delightful cast, wonderful sets, hilarious costumes, and fun songs - I left the theatre feeling so good. This is what entertainment should be! Hope it comes back to Toronto. This was wonderful!! Can't say enough good things about it.

The cast was unbelievably talented and completely captivating from start to end. Storyline was great and the actors completely did justice to their characters and roles. I wish they were in Toronto longer than a week as we would love to see it a second time!

    Extremely surprised!

by H. C. on 2019-12-22Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

To be honest, I was dreading going to see this (read - really, really, REALLY dreading it). I, personally, am not a fan of the show but my 10 year old is a huge fan so we bought tickets as an early Christmas present and went as a family of four. As it turns out, I thanked my 10 year old for asking for tickets. The performers were amazing and the sets were beautiful - so bright and colourful! The show was funny and not in the least annoying! I’m so glad we decided to buy tickets. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. I was also surprised by the mix of people who were there to see it - lots of families but also lots of 20-or-so-year olds with friends and on dates. If this is an option for you, I highly recommend it!

    Fantastic!

by Phoebe22 on 2019-12-21Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

This production was Broadway-caliber in every way. We are older adults but enjoyed it as much if not more than all of the young children in the audience. The acting (and the uncanny resemblance of the actors to the cartoon characters), the music, the staging and the costumes were all spectacular, making for a very joyful and "feel-good" night at the theatre.

We were singing, laughing and clapping the whole way through and the cast got a well-deserved standing ovation at the end! Thank you Sponge Bob cast for a show my daughter was thrilled to see!

    The Best Show Ever!!

by Lizzy on 2019-12-20Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I don't know where to begin! From the moment I entered the theater to the moment I left it was non-stop fun. The opening band was quirky and talented, the show's actors, music, choreography, and set design were incredibly fantastic (my eyes sometimes couldnt take everything in - there was so much going on!), and Patchy the Pirate's little interludes in between acts was laugh out loud hilarious! The main actors really steal the show and somehow impersonate the cartoon characters theyre playing PERFECTLY. As a long time Spongebob fan since childhood and a fan of well-designed musicals, I could not recommend this musical more highly. You wont be able to keep a smile off your face during this show. It's fun, laughter, and heart from beginning to end. (Special shout out to the actors who played Spongebob, Squidward, and Plankton for slaying their amazing songs and complicated choreography, the conductor and sound effects guy for doing their job well and making us all laugh while doing it, and the actress who played Sandy for how much heart she brought to the character)

My husband and I went to go see the show as I really liked sponge bob when I was younger. We both thought it was hilarious! The songs were great and the sets were really cool. He wasn't a sponge bob fan, but he is now after seeing this show! 10/10 recommend
