The band has weathered the passing of several members over the years with true professionalism, never losing their signature sound -- or classic dapper style -- while recruiting new talent to fill the empty shoes. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Tams formed in Atlanta in 1960, taking their name from the trademark Tam o' Shanter caps they donned on stage. They scored their first hit in 1962 with "Untie Me", a Top 20 R&B success that paved the way for a string of popular singles released throughout the decade. Their chart success in the US continued with hits like "I've Been Hurt" (1965) and "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy" (1868), but their biggest triumph came overseas when the 1971 re-release of their single "Hey Girl Don't Bother Me" topped the UK Singles Chart. It was another 16 years before they appeared on the charts again with their 1987 UK hit single "There Ain't Nothing Like Shaggin'". A classic act with a timeless sound, The Tams continue to enjoy considerable popularity, thrilling their devoted fans every time they hit the road on tour.
