If it wasn't for the heat (and lack of air conditioning) and if it wasn't for Jeff Martin's voice giving out 3/4s of the way through the show (again, due to the heat and lack of air conditioning at Sound Academy) it would have been a show beyond words. However, with the oppressive heat and the band resorting to having the audience sing the choruses (including the powerful ending to Save Me - as their encore), the show was good...not their greatest (this is the 4th time I've seen them)...my hunch is that they would have played longer if it wasn't the hottest day on record in Toronto. They played their hits (Save Me, Winter Solstice, Writings on the Wall, Temptation, Release, Psychopomp, Heaven Coming Down) and a couple of band (not audience) favourites (Zahira, Correspondences), as well as covers of Daniel Lanois' The Messenger and Jeff Buckley's Last Goodbye. All in all, a satisfying show.
