    Temptations

We enjoyed the show very much. But the problems were mostly with the band being to loud, & we could not hear the group singing..

    Wish I hadn't been tempted...

by luv2listen2music on 2013-06-09River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

Sorry, but I was VERY disappointed. The band was so loud it was difficult to hear the singers' voices. I stuffed cotton in my ears but still had to leave before an hour was up because the volume made me feel nauseous. Was a real let-down after the excellent Paul Anka concert the week before. I will be more careful before I buy another concert ticket at your venue.

    Temptations

by abbottridge on 2013-06-09River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

These guys were great!! Connected with the audience well, everyone seemed to be having a great time! Their performance was tight and really entertaining. I just wish it was a little longer or perhaps an encore. I definitely recommend going to see them if there's any opportunity to! The showroom at the River Rock was great too, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house and it sounded really good in there. Enjoyable evening all around!

Fantastic, as always. This is my third time seeing The Temptations and I always enjoy their performance. I will see them again as long as they continue to perform.

    very tempting

by birthday60 on 2013-06-09River Rock Casino Resort - Richmond

You would never know these men weren't together the whole time... except for obvious age differences.... still so cool after all these years. Back up music too loud, though, sometimes drowning out the great vocals! A little too much time introducing the band and unfortunately no encore, 90 minutes and they were out of there! Still fun, and great to dance to!

    Temptations Revue

by Goodshot on 2013-01-07Casino Rama - Rama

We had great seats and the event opened with an introduction of the lead singer. We didn't get the name because the pa system was so loud. The songs were drowned out by the loudness of the band. This was adjusted as the evening moved on where we could hear the songs. For us and it seemed many others, left the event early. We were disappointed with the performance and especially the lead singer. The SCREAMING into the mike was like a regular teenage event. This group doesn't represent the Temptations quality and Casino Rama would be wise not to sign them again. For us, we wasted our money and for the firsst time left there disappointed.

    A little piece of history

by ThyFish on 2013-01-07Casino Rama - Rama

Just what I expected. I had seen The Temptations at Rama 7 years earlier and they were fantastic so my bar was set high. Great show that covered all the best songs!! Although there is only 1 original member, everyone on stage could sing with the best of them!

The Boys Are Back In Town

by darlindarla on 2012-11-15Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

i've been going to see the Temptations since 1965 but of course i was in my diapers, lol. what amazes me is that no matter how many times they change players, they still sound just like all of their hits. for guys their age, they sure keep their energy level to the max. i always enjoy all of their hits whether fast, slow or in between. their loud striped black & white suits were very distracting but i dealt with it. i did the sit down dance the whole concert so i was able to do the stand up dances later. their show is always a treat for all ages.

The Temptations - A Journey Back In Time

by donnal191 on 2012-11-13Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The show was all I expected and more. The number of brass instruments was a bonus. I grew up in the Windsor-Detroit area so Motown is in my heart. It was like being back in time listening and watching them execute each and every oldie as if they were hits yesterday. The musicians were fabulous. Well Done !!!!

    50 years and going strong

by browning on 2012-11-13Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The Temptations were in their element on Sunday night. Fresh, energetic, great dance moves and beautiful voices. The only problem was it ended far toooooooo soon.

    Still got it!

by KatYo on 2012-11-13Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

The Temptations can still keep a crowd wanting more! That's how the show ended in Hamilton - the band was disassembling equipment and the crowd was chanting for more. Such a fun night.

The show was very short. Actual singing time was probably less than 60 minutes.

    The Temptations a bit short

by BrenC on 2012-11-13Hamilton Place Theatre - Hamilton

I was excited to see the Temptations to relive all the old songs we grew up loving. At first the sound seemed off but after a couple of songs they fixed the problem. It surprised me as Hamilton Place always had great sound any other time I've seen acts there. They started just after 8pm and the whole show (though fairly energetic) was over just after 9pm with no encore All I could hear from the crowd on the way out was how short the show was. So given the cost verses the length of show I would have to rate this show as average.

    Temptations are still great

Great show. All the good songs were performed. Lots of fun. One problem, sound balance was not great. Vocals not loud enough.

Temptations stand the test of time

by tarryrob on 2011-10-15MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The Tempations hit Winnipeg’s MTS Centre, bringing the hits, the sound, the choreography and style that made them 1 of Motown Records most successful selling acts. Although only Otis Williams survives from The Temptations’ heyday, the new line-up did a surprisingly good job of the capturing the unmistakable moves, style, presentation, sense of fun, spirit and overall sound of the legendary Detroit vocal group. Backed by a tight 10-piece horn section and 4-piece band, The Temps took the stage and started the night (11/16/08) with the 1964 Marvin Gaye chestnut “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” to a rousing ovation. Anchored by the newest Temp addition, lead vocalist Barry Williamson along with veteran members Terry Weeks, Ron Tyson and Joe Herndon, the group dug deep into their enviable back catalogue, and proceeded to knock out 1 hit after another, beginning with the band’s 1st single, the Smokey Robinson penned 1964 classic “The Way You Do the Things You Do.” Serving up classic back to back hits from the 60s and 70s, the current line-up easily made the transition from the upbeat R&B roots of the 1966 hit “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” to the 1970 psychedlic groove of “Ball of Confusion,” slowing to the smooth soul of “I Wish It Would Rain, and “Just My Imagination,” and capped the run with back to back No 1s including the 1972 psychedlic soul of “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” and the empassioned 1969 smash “ Can’t Get Next To You.” The band then slowed things up with the accappello ballad “You are so Necessary” for the ladies, before cranking up the tempo and the hits once again, with their 1966 single “Get Ready,” the Otis Williams penned 1984 hit “Treat Her Like a Lady” and 1967’s “You’re My Everything.” A 1964 deep cut, the B-side to “I’ll Be in Trouble,” titled “The Girl’s Alright With Me” proceeded the home stretch in which the band pulled out more heavweights including their 1968 Grammy winning hit “Cloud Nine,” the hit title track from their 1969 album “Psychedelic Shack,” and wrapped the night with their signature 1965 Smokey Robinson penned mega-hit “My Girl,” which had the entire audience on their feet, singing and swaying. Granted, the classic era Temptations’ lead singers, including the late Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, and Paul Williams had arguably the most unique and powerful voices in the entire Motown stable and few could stand in their shoes. But The Temps’ Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks and newest Temps recruit Bruce Williamson, fine lead singers in their own right, did a commendable job of interpreting the spirit of their legendary predecessors’ vocal performances while still asserting their own style as lead vocalists. The songs themselves stand the test of time, maintaining their instant familiarity, yet are infused with enough subtle stylistic changes so that - although time worn – they still sounded fresh and vital. Assisted by a solid, hit-filled 1-hour set performed by The Four Tops, who opened the co-headline bill, a great night of Motown memories was enjoyed by all at the MTS Centre.
