    Brilliant concert!

by drakar100 on 2009-11-12The Studio at Hamilton Place - Hamilton

This venue was ausome. The sound quality in the room was great. The Trews were amazing and gave 150 percent. The crowd was good and the waitresses kept the drinks flowing. I will now look for more venues at this location, as well as continue to follow the Trews!

    Acoustic Trews amazing

by rockgoddes on 2009-11-11The Regent Theatre - Picton, ON

I should have known what the night would entail when the older lady sitting beside me came back to her seat with her third glass of wine before the Trews took the stage; I should have. But I was not prepared for the rather out-of-control reception the Picton crowd gave the band when they walked out, nor the way things got further out of hand as the evening went along. People were dancing in the aisles, dancing on the stage, almost falling OFF the stage, dancing at their seats, and yelling and heckling throughout the entire show. I think it's safe to say Picton, ON, loves this band a great deal. What they got back for their efforts was (yet another) absolutely wonderful performance by the Antigonish boys that left no doubt whatsoever about the prodigious talent that this band possesses. It's one thing to be able to sing like birds while standing up, it's a whole 'nother thing entirely to do it sitting down; and sing like birds they did, and THEN some. All the hits were there from all four albums, including the latest single "Sing Your Heart Out" as the first encore, as well as clear fan favourites like "Montebello Park", "The Traveling Kind", "When You Leave", and "Hollis & Morris". They even threw in treasures like "Locked Doors", "Den Of Thieves" and "Happy Day". The stellar guitar playing, the amazing vocals, the intimacy and immediacy of the acoustic sound - all of it together means if you get a chance to see the Trews on this acoustic tour do not hesitate in any way to go. You will NOT be disappointed.

Wild Horses couldn't drag me away....literally!

by Trinity30 on 2009-11-07Charles W Stockey Centre - Parry Sound

Friday afternoon I had spontaniously decided to drive to Parry Sound to watch our boys. Thanks for the tickets Nancy! The drive wasn't too bad. Straight up the 400 got me there in about 2hrs (the way I drive). I love the open road...I felt like getting lost. Emm...sound familiar? lol I arrived at the Charles W Stockey Centre a little late. It was intimate and lovely and held about 250 last night. My 12 yr old loved the rectangular lights that changed colours. As we stepped into the Mezzanine, the crowd seemed a little quite until some crazy girl (I won't mention names *cough*) started hootin' and hollerin' during their set. By the time Hollis and Morris was over, people were cheering as much as the crazy girl was. (I have no idea who she was??..lol). Sitting in the mezzanine gave me a wonderful perspective of the performance although it was a little difficult to take decent pics. An Awesome rendition of The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" brought me to tears. I absolutely love that song and I'm sure if they played "Angie" I would have had to leave for sobbing so loudly. Colin delivered fanominal vocals as always but I swear that boy gets better and better. By the time it was over people were standing with applause with an amazing energy felt throughout. Colin gave two little girls who were sitting in the first row guitar picks and Sean gave them a drumstick. That was so very sweet of them. There were a quite a few people in the lobby afterwards. I would have stayed to say hello only my coach turns into a pumpkin at midnight.

by marymo on 2009-09-14Jackhammers Nightclub - Brantford

The trews are the best live band I have ever seen, and I cannot believe they are not more popular, or played more on the radio. If you get a chance to see this band you will not be disappointed!! Best band ever!

    The Trews rocked the place

by Brantfordredsox on 2009-09-13Jackhammers Nightclub - Brantford

This was only the 2nd time I have seen The Trews and it was 1000X better then the 1st show I saw them do 2 years ago. They played for 1 hour and 52 minutes. Played all of their popular songs, that even a new fan would know.

Truly solid show by The Trews!

by TeamTrayne on 2009-09-08Wasaga Beach Area #1 / Main Beach Area - Wasaga

So awesome live! They put alot into their performance...each one of them;) The Wasaga Beach Dome venue was sweet...the audience then was smaller, so all of us were close to the stage & it made for a really interactive show...the whole crowd was so pumped! Quite the talent they had using different instruments, and incorporated in some Kings of Leon lyrics~ they really got us jamming along with 'em. Their songs performed live are just as good, maybe better, than the albums- they really know how to rock! Encore performance is one you won't forget!

This was my second & again unforgettable concert with The Trews. The band was wild & crazy & made you a part of the show for the entire night. They played for 2+ solid hours & included all of their hit songs. They ended the show with a cover of The Who's Baba O'Reilly.......fantastic job! I can't wait to see them next time they come to town!!

The Trew are the New Hip!

by Melster on 2009-07-16Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

You know talent when you like a CD/band so much that you spend a hard working dollar to see them live and they sound exactly like the CD and radio play. Bands that need to be made diditally mastered for a CD often are a disapointment live! Love the sound, music and lyrics, drummer was great on the bongos! Great Canadain talent that I think are rising stars just as the Hip when they started out, and seen them 13 times and love them too!

    Great Show!

by Camshaft on 2009-07-16Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

The Trews put on a great show at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer. Their sound was great! They had some very clever arrangements, morphing their own songs into covers of classic rock tunes, and then back again. They also did a great unplugged rendition of "Billy Jean," better than anything MIchaael Jackson ever did. A great up-and-coming Canadian band!

    The Trews were amazing!

by hikergal on 2009-07-16Enmax Centrium - Red Deer

I am a trews fan, and now so even more. Their live show was full of energy; foot stompin', hand clappin', fist in the air hips swayin' kind of time. All this plus the fact that the musicianship was so tight and vocals were not sacrificied in the least. Thank you for coming to Red Deer, for being affordable, and giving me a great night of entertainment!!!!
