They are an excellent Genesis cover band. They also do their own material. The band is originally from Italy, but all their music and CD's are in English. They are a must see if you love Genesis.
This was my 1st time seeing The Watch and we loved it! The two guys on guitar looked bored out of their minds and got up out of their "stools" once during the entire show. That was a little bazaar. The guys on keyboards & drums were full of personality and looked like they were having a great time and the lead vocalist sang brilliantly. Each member of the band was brilliant in their own right. They played and sang old Genesis very, VERY well! The only complaint I would have would be directed at the mixer...or the guy on sound. He should have turned up the lead singer's mic earlier on in the show and there was one section in Supper's ready where he kept turning the volume up and down on the keyboards for effect. It wasn't effective. It was annoying. Other than that a great show. We'll definitely catch these guys again next year!
I thought it was 1974 and Peter Gabriel was on stage. A very tight band with some great solo music as well as all the Genesis favourites.
This is NOT a note-for-note rendition of Selling England by the Pound album. It is a blend of about half the album, other Genesis material and some of the Watches own material (which sounds somewhat similar to Genesis). I guess I didn't read the fine print. My bad. Couldn't wait to leave. First half of show had mike & audio problems. Second half, sound was bit better. Singer's voice was often mumbled -- was it just him or the sound equipment?
these guys do an absolutely fabulous job on all the early tracks - their own songs were great as well - I'll definitely catch them again next year.
I have seen this band twice now - and will see them anytime they come to Ontario. These guy are absolutely brilliant. 5 incredibly talented musicians playing complex prog rock and making it look easy. For any Gabriel era Genesis fan, this band is a MUST! I also purchased 3 of their studio CDs. Every CD, every song - simply fantastic. If you like Foxtrot or Trespass or Nursery Cryme, then you gotta listen to The Watch's own material. The lads from Italy are very passionate and dedicated to their craft. BRAVO!!!!
Very solid. The musicians are quite talented and put on a good show. Definitely will see them next year when they come around doing Selling England by the Pound.
Once again it was a real pleasure to see and moreover hear the Watch. They did a fantastic job on the Genesis material, bringing a real passion for the songs. Only wish they had added in some more of their own material.
