About

Canadian rockers Theory Of A Deadman are back with another batch of odes to hard partying, hard drinking, beautiful women, and living life like there’s no tomorrow. The band’s music is down-and-dirty rock and roll done right, mixed with some swampy blues riffs and a healthy serving of good-ol’-boy country – and they have concerts to match. With booming bass drums, high-impact guitars and stadiums and arenas packed with Deadman fans who are there to party, this is one of the best rock tickets in town. It’s not all high-energy madness, though. Lead singer and songwriter Tyler Connolly has seen some pain, and he's turned it into soft, introspective ballads, like “By the Way” and, from their recent 2011 album, "The Truth Is…," the good-relationship-gone-bad song “Out Of My Head.”

Theory Of A Deadman has been going strong since 2001, when this foursome from the tiny British Columbia, Canada, town of Delta got their big break, becoming the first band to sign to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger’s newly minted 604 Records. Indeed, Nickelback fans will find a lot to love in Theory Of A Deadman, but the band’s established an identity all their own, with four albums that went platinum in Canada (and one platinum in the States), leading to singles like “Nothing Could Come Between Us,” “Santa Monica” and recent chart-toppers “Lowlife” and “Hurricane,” also from 2011's "The Truth Is…." Since that album, the band’s been a bit quiet, but they’re currently gearing up for another album, which will mean another tour and another chance to see a great night of truly solid rock and roll.

    Theory of a deadman Rocked!!!

by AngieD on 2009-07-16Sound Academy - Toronto

Theory of a Deadman were great. This is the second time I saw them in concert. The first was in March and they left a lasting impression and I just had to see them again. I love their sound and the way the band engages the crowd. I wish they didn't have to end the show as I could have watched them for a few more hours.

    Greatest Concert

by Marg3959 on 2009-07-16Miscellaneous Venues Guelph - Guelph

This concert was fantastic! The opening band, not so great, but Theory of a Deadman was AWESOME!!! I loved the small venue and how up close and personal it was. The acoustics could have been improved so that the audience could actually hear the words, but other than that, it was great!

Best Concert in a Long Time

by Cjunkie on 2009-07-16Sound Academy - Toronto

I have been to many concerts over the years and Theory was the best by far. The venue was small and allowed everyone to be close to the action and the cost of merchandise was not overpriced. I have been to see Theory 3 times and I liked this venue the best. As for the music -- the sound was great, the band was entertaining as usual and I had a really great time. Nothing beats being this close to the band at a concert!

Theory of a Deadman were "Awesome"

by Nifer on 2009-07-16Sound Academy - Toronto

To say the least I brought my 2 daughters, my husband and 2 friends and we all loved them! I have 2 CD's in either of our cars so we wouldn't have to travel without them. They were charming and rough with a smooth sound that was just perfect. Would recommend them highly! The girls love their Bad, Bad Girlfriend shirts and alot of people have commented or inquired about them. The venue was great and I'll be sure to see them again when they're in town!

    Great show but so-so venue

by Bedrockbabe on 2009-07-16Sound Academy - Toronto

Theory of a Deadman was great and so was their opening band, The Parlour Mob (check them out on youtube). The only complaint was that it was general admission, it was a really hot & humid night and the Sound Academy didn't have the A/C turned up enough so we were all standing around sweating. People were also really rude pushing their way to the front when Theory of a Deadman came on stage. I would really recommend going to see the band but definitely at a different venue.

    TOAD

by Girly on 2009-07-16Sound Academy - Toronto

I was completly let down and disapointed. The vocals were awfull. TOAD is a studio band at best. The only good thing was the opening band Parolor Mob. I went a TOAD fan and left a Parlor Mob fan.

by dummy on 2009-07-15Cowboys Ranch - London

I absolutely loved the concert. I am so glad that they played in cowboys bar because it made the concert seem more personal. It was amazing to be so close to the band. They are incredible musicians and excellent entertainers. The energy that night was incredible. Definitely a night to remember. Hope they come back again soon. :)

    It's Theory - can't go wrong!!!

    by Jae0909 on 2009-07-15Sound Academy - Toronto

The concert was great as it WAS Theory playing. The only issues I had were the lack of interaction between fans and the band after the concert. I know they're getting bigger but I think they could've come out for us hard core fans that waited around for awhile to catch a glimpse.

    It was a great show.

by Wisdomwrappedinmadness on 2009-07-15Sound Academy - Toronto

After a really well done opening act by Parlor Mob that really brought people in and really just drew them closer and closer to the stage. Theory of a Deadman came out and they were just great as each of their songs were played it was just a great adrenaline rush. I was a little surprised by the difference in the lead singers voice but other than that it was just great and just was a great show that just got you pumped. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of rock music.
