Utah Hockey Club History

The Utah Hockey Club is a professional hockey franchise in the NHL that debuted as an expansion team ahead of the 2024-25 season. In its inaugural season, Utah inherited the roster, organizational staff and assets of the Arizona Coyotes, who were suspended after failing to locate a new home arena at the end of the 2023-24 season, after an agreement between the NHL and Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith. The Utah Hockey Club also assumed the Coyotes’ place in the Central Division of the Western Conference, while entering the league as an entirely separate and new franchise. The team’s name, logo and design are set to be finalized prior to the NHL’s 2025-26 season.

Utah Hockey Club at Delta Center

The Utah Hockey Club plays at Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The team’s inaugural 2024-25 season will feature their first home game in the preseason against the LA Kings on September 23, regular season debut against the Chicago Blackhawks on October 8 and the season finale at home against the St. Louis Blues on April 15. Delta Center has previously hosted several preseason matches for the NHL since 2021, and served as the home rink for hockey games during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
