Vancouver Canucks History

The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.

Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.

The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

  • Amazing viewing party!!!

by Sheri on 2024-05-06Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a hockey fan for years, I took my 12 yr old granddaughters as she wasn’t but this viewing party turned her into a fan. I can’t afford to go to a game but this felt very much like it. So much fun.

  • Great Venue

by CarolDLF on 2024-05-06Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous venue to watch a hockey game on the screen. The announcer got the crowd roaring and waving the towels. Free towels - nice touch. Also, I understand money from the event goes to Canucks Kids. People were respectful when leaving. Lots of security. Overall most enjoyable evening.

by Craig on 2024-05-06Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Great price and vibes. Super fun. Got free club seat upgrade with free drink voucher and they hand popcorn out. Go with higher row in lower bowl so you are not straining your neck to watch the jumbotron, though they do lower it.
