Vancouver Canucks History
The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.
Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.
The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

The Vancouver Canucks play their home games at the 475,000-square foot Rogers Arena(Opens in new tab), which also played host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games where Sidney Crosby scored the “Golden Goal.” A staple of downtown Vancouver, the Canucks played their first game at the arena on October 9, 1995. Other notable events that have taken place at the arena include the 1998 NHL All-Star Game, 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and in October 2002 when Queen Elizabeth II dropped the ceremonial first puck during an NHL exhibition game between the Canucks and San Jose Sharks.

The Canucks game we attended the other day was absolutely awesome! Coming from Australia it was our first game with the kids and my wife and everyone loved it. The food and drink service was excellent and entertainment during breaks nothing less. The game itself was amazing, intense and I would definitely want to go again. Great experience, would recommend to everyone.

My first experience at an ice hockey game. Loved, loved, watching the game. Even had our picture up on the big screen. Would definitely be a top highlight of our 8 week holiday in USA and Canada. Even better they won. Go the Canuck’s!!
We had family visiting from the UK and this was their first hockey game. They made their experience great with gifts and donuts and of course fun photos with Fin. They loved it definitely in their memory books.Thank You!

Awesome seats, great crowd, $30+ for 2 semi edible hotdogs & 2 drinks. Everything was enjoyable except the dogs, that were cold before we even got the condiments on.
Stubhub seems to get all the good tickets before real people can buy them. drives the cost of everything up by doing that. otherwise the actual game itself was good. just wish i could have chosen aisle seats given that i bought my 5 tickets 3 weeks ahead of time.

It was a thrill to be at the hockey game honouring Roberto Luongo and to see Canucks win and Demko get the shut out. Such a treat to watch live and the excitement in the air

Was our 1st ice hockey game & man it didnt dissapoint. The place was alive & so many people enjoying such a great game. From New Zealand so rugby is our thing, but this was just as exciting to watch. Awesome evening.

Was one of the best events we’ve ever seen. So great to not only see Roberto Luongo, but also Daniel & Henrick Sedin, Cory Schneider, Kirk McLean & Mason Raymond. And as an extra bonus, not only did the Canucks win, but Thatcher Demko got a shut out. It was the perfect Canucks night.

I have seen a couple of other NHL teams host the Vancouver Canucks but this was my first time seeing them at home and I was not disappointed. The vibe and energy in the Rogers arena was so hyped and it was so much fun to be there cheering on the Canucks. The Canucks played so well and ended up winning which made the experience even more amazing. If you’re thinking about seeing a Canucks game, I 100% recommend it.
Love the atmosphere and love how the guys showed up and played hard! It would be even better if the merchandise is a bit cheaper. But it was a great experience nonetheless!
Hosts could check in with crowd more diligently to make sure heckling is in better taste. Attendees next to us and behind were using foul/racist language and vaping with our 12 year old son in attendance. Other younger children were also close by.
Rogers arena is a fantastic venue and does a good job of organising hockey games. Easy access, entry and exit makes for completely positive experience.
Ticketing process was very simple, user friendly, and very helpful when it came to game time! The event staff at the facility were top notch, quick and efficient service! Highly recommend!
