    Alberta Ballet 'All of Us'

by IamCordelia on 2018-05-17Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This ballet was awesome! I found the story compelling and the mood of the scene was set by the great Hip music. The choreography was flawlessly linked to the music as well, and the all the dancers performed beautifully.

    It was AWESOME

by Petra63 on 2018-05-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Loved the music selection and the dances. The story they told was fantastic. I would highly recommend to anyone. The Ballet should do more shows like this to get the average Joe in to watch the Ballet.

    Unnecessary choking and rape scenes

by Nellie2014 on 2018-05-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I went to see The Hip's music put to ballet. The dancing was amazing. The music was amazing. Why Jean Grand Maitre felt that it was necessary to include a whole dance of the female lead being choked, then dragged away, followed by the male dancer coming back on stage pulling up his pants after raping her, I have no idea. Very disappointing. I came to enjoy and left feeling very disturbed and disgusted.

All of Us a Ballet like no other

by YumpinYimmeny on 2018-05-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I am not a person who would 'go to a ballet'. However combining the music of the Tragically Hip with the dance of muses on stage made for an unforgettable show & a fine tribute to Gord Downie. Well done for all involved!

Alberta Ballet in All of Us

by JSSB on 2018-05-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My friend and I are not generally ballet attendees and went mostly due to it being music of The Hip. We loved both the music and the dance. The set was very well done, overall it was a wonderful performance.

    Unique and captivating

by Badger3 on 2018-05-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

When I think of the ballet I think The Nut Cracker or the Black Swan. I was excited to attend this unique performance. This was my first ballet in over fifteen years, because of the unique theme, post apocalyptic rock ballet danced to the Tragically Hip music, I had to go. It was captivating throughout. There was one scene in particular in the first half that was so captivating and different from what you'd expect from a ballet. They also played around with shadows on the walls which I thought really added to the performance and brought it alive. The second half was stronger story-wise. I could actually follow the story fully throughout the second half, where as, the first half I felt it was more random dancing, still captivating, I just couldn't grasp the story they were trying to tell at the beginning. This was an amazing and unique production. I hope to see more like this in the future. This theme spiced up the ballet for me, and I hope to see more unique stories come out in the future.

This show was amazing start to finish! The story was great as well as the superb dancing, and all set to the music of The Tragically Hip! It’s not your typical ballet that’s for sure! I would definitely recommend seeing it. In fact I would go again given the chance.
