Sound was also terrible in this venue, as it was in Vancouver. I was seated in the first row of the front orchestra and still had difficulty hearing the actors on stage.
I found the play sad and depressing.

Play was superb, sound was terrible.
Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver
Excellent production - wonderful acting, direction, choreography, puppetry, special effects, etc...
Which made the fact that the sound was so abysmal really rather unfortunate. The dialogue is very muffled, it sounds like the speakers are facing anywhere but at the audience, even in the best seats in the house.
It isn't the building's acoustics - I've been to great shows there with crystal-clear sound. The issue is a sub-standard sound system that is part of this tour.

Great Production - accoustics poor
Queen Elizbeth Theatre - Vancouver BC
Would recommend War Horse to anyone as the puppetry is amazing, unfortunately the projection of the voices of the majority of cast and the singer were very week. It could just have been the venue accustiscs, as a lot of times the voices were just inaudible to hear or understand what they were saying. I have no issue with the British accent, it was just poorly amplified as the voices fell to the floor as soon as it left the stage area. I went 1 night (left Dress Circle, 3 friends (Mezzanine) another night and we all had the same experience with the sound. But loved the show, if you view it as an old silent movie it presents the show and sentiment on its own.
