How Time Dragged
by Ojda on 2011-10-21The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts - VancouverLove his work and not just in Star Trek. We were a bit disappointed that he didn't speak TO the audience but to his 'interviewer' and the teleprompter interspersed with video clips from his past innumerable works. I had read his autobiography and felt this was just a spoken re-enactment. He is remarkably energetic for 80 though and I only wish he acknowledged more of the WHY Star Trek made such an impact on our culture. It was the 'benevolent" view of man's ability to progess, hope for the future, and the triumph of reason over force. He seemed again to want to reinforce what a small part of his career that represented...but that is what made him so famous, wish he was a little more grateful. Also, he should not have ended on that terrible spoken Hockey Night in Canada - stick to acting Mr Shatner!! Still enjoyed it and glad we saw him.
