Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (now the Arizona Coyotes). In the 12 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made six playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

Great arena, people are nice!! Great view wherever the seats are
Great game - seats are tight - pizza over cooked - tough like cardboard - won’t be buying that again. Go Jets go!!
The entry to the event was quick and simple. The food was yummy. South Asian night was entertaining and the kids playing hockey at period break were adorable. I especially enjoyed O Canada sung in different languages. It made me proud to be from Winnipeg as the Jets are trying hard to be inclusive. And...the Jets won!!! Now that's entertainment.
We had a great time at the game! The seats were amazing!
Hassle free purchase with ticket master. Great seats , can’t wait to go again.
The oilers game was awesome. Great seats in row 121. Great too see Mc Jesus
I had such an amazing experience at the November 30th home game for the Winnipeg Jets. This was my birthday celebration and I was in awe when all the lights were turned out and so many people turned on their flashlight on their cell phone. What an amazing experience. I will remember this forever. I was with my family so that certainly made my birthday an amazing day! Thank you for an amazing experience. The atmosphere was amazing and the Ice Crew did such an amazing job. Now to the players, they were full of energy and I was grateful to have been in the same arena as all of the players. All the best to them in their future endeavours and all their games. Merriest of Christmas to you!
Jets laid an egg on the ice, beers were $15, a bottle of water was $6. It doesn't scream perfect outing.
The wait outside was long. Other then that, love going to games.
The game was good. The beer was very good. The seats were fine. The one issue was the long wait time for the washrooms.
What a great game!! The jets crapped the bed and the Oilers took advantage and won worn an empty net goal. Way to go Oilers!!!
The Jets continue to bring the best game in the world to greater heights every time they hit the ice. They are getting a community together in the belief that this may be the year! The team captain, a kid from Calgary represents Winnipeg and the people of Winnipeg every time he is on the ice. Like the people of the Peg, he gives it his all with every shift, to show the world that they underestimated him and there is no holding him back! The Jets, are the team to beat in the True North!
good games and concerts it’s awesome and looking to come more often
Very welcoming and helpful in the handling of one party having all the tickets and another arriving later. We were helped out by one of the lead hands to gets us in enjoying a bit of pre game snack and beer while we waited for our late party. When the late party arrived he said he was given VIP service We then went on to enjoy the game to a win over Devils GO JETS
We enjoyed the seats and the game. The seats are a little tight but in a small rink it's understandable. Definitely looking forward to the next game or an event that we're interested in.
Love the atmosphere at the games! So fun & upbeat! Great drink & snack selection too! One thing that could improve is the fans cleaning up after themselves. I was shocked by the amount of garbage left behind after the game. I know there are staff hired to clean, but still…do better people!
300 section seating is poop,(close together and almost ontop of eachother) but the experience is fun at ye ol jets games. Highly advice waiting close to puck drop and buying tickets in the 200 sections. Best offer imo. Beer was $9-14 depending size etc. Food was crazy over priced but expected. Food quality was 5/10. Not un clean or anything like that but poor quality small portions. Cleanest washrooms ive ever seen at a sporting event so thats awesome. Security is tight so your very safe. Parking is meh downtown so best to be dropped off or be ready for a good ol walk if you dont wanna pay up the yang for $20 parking. 7/10 overall. Go Jets Go!
It was fun. I lucky I was 1 of 5,000 fans for moose night. It very physical and good game. End the result we the dub.
Great experience to go to rhe game , but prices of tickets, concessions are off the wall. So I eat at home, and not bother buying souvenirs.
We arrived when the gates open, did a tour of the concourse and ordered at a vendor a 45 min to puck drop. 35 minutes later we got our cold burgers and onion rings. True North does not seem to care. Enjoyed the game, but unlikely to go back because the rest of the experience was horrible
