About

Iron Maiden are one of the most formative bands to establish the heavy metal genre in the ’80s. Formed in 1975 in East London, the band underwent several personnel changes before releasing their self-titled debut in 1980. Iron Maiden’s sophomore effort, 1981’s Killers, was the first to chart in the U.S. and marked the final release with lead singer Paul Di'Anno. With the installment of frontman Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden released their breakthrough 1982 album, The Number of the Beast, which reached platinum certification, introduced two staples to the band’s catalog with the title track and “Run to the Hills” and kicked off a 10-year run of releases to land in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200, including their 1983 follow-up Piece of Mind and 1986’s Somewhere in Time. Dickinson departed in 1993, but returned in 1999 to cement the current lineup with bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris; guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers; and drummer Nicko McBrain, along with the band’s long-standing mascot “Eddie,” whose skeletal figure has graced the cover of nearly every release and become a signature of their live performances. Iron Maiden reached a new level of mainstream success in the ’10s, winning their first Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category for their 2010 single “El Dorado,” while 2010’s The Final Frontier and 2015’s The Book of Souls both earned No. 4 placements on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting albums at the time.

    Iron Maiden kicks ass!

by OutKast on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

Great concert and a really nice venue. Big and open with great views and the sound was awesome! However, access to washrooms is less than desirable as none are available outside the gates - luckily the restaurant at the casino was open! Rogers Place Edmonton! Pricing on beverages is out of hand. $31 for two coolers is absurd!

First time at the Rogers Place! Security team gave water to people in the front row! That’s a first. They were great with us. Congratulation to all the team from the Rogers Place.

Fantastic show from beginning to end. Great to hear the Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son songs again. Brought back memories of the 80's.

    Epic Maiden!

by Hughes on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

Electric atmosphere, best performance I've seen from Iron Maiden. First time I've seen them in 11 years and this is probably the best live concert I've seen. Great stage show, brilliant setlist and blend of new and classics. Honestly, it was so, so, so good :D

    Terrible Time

by Jm on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

You had two acts, and you failed to capture any sort of mood or have any flow to the show. And whose bright idea was it to have an hour and a half intermission between acts. Terribly paced. And that whole part of the city smells like puke..

    Disappointed

by IC on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

I was expecting more variety on this show. They barely played a couple of songs from the 80s. 90% of the stuff was just new stuff. I understand they have a lot of material to cover but they need to check what kind of fans go to their concert Yes a lot of young people but I looked around the whole place and more than half of the people were old fans and they were seated there and really bored just waiting for hits like “AcesHigh” ,” Flight of Icarus” or any of the other 10 or more iconic songs from their golden era that they didnt play. Proof is that as soon as they played Trooper everybody went crazy and everyone jumped up and sung. Just the people on the pit were having fun the rest of the time. jumping on top of each other, I dont think they really cared who was playing. I wont go next time unless they play more variety. On a positive side, Bruce sings as great as always, and the rest of the band sound and look as good as always.

    Iron Maiden was great

by Maiden 23 on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

Iron maiden was great. The venue was over priced for drinks. Over $15 a drink and then the debit machine’s tip options were set to a minimum of over $5. Kinda outrageous when you’re paying over $30 for two beverages.

Band was great. The venue and section 201 was pathetic.

by Kelsey on 2023-10-03Rogers Place - Edmonton

Paid ridiculous prices for obstructed views, drove 9 hours to get to Edmonton and couldn't see over the stupid glass on the rail of the second level, so we stood up. Doing so, we pissed everyone off because they wanted to sit during an Iron Maiden show and watch it through their phones (riddle me that?) So we moved up a few rows to stand with some real fans. I could have just paid for the cheaper seats and enjoyed the show without the dramatic man babies sitting behind me whining.....We will be hitting other venues up for shows we want to see. Please put obstruction notices for anyone else who decides to spends their hard earned money at Rogers. For what we paid we could have gone to a much better venue with less dramatics.
