    WASTE OF MONEY

    by Haliwood902 on 2012-06-09Halifax Forum - Halifax

Went to the 1pm showing in Halifax 06/09/2012. Complete waste of time and money. Half of the acts were missing, and the ones that were executed were amateur at best. The juggler dropped his plates, the dude fell off some balaning act once, the animal act was a bunch of ponies running around in a circle, and a tiger and lion jumping from one stool to another, and the finale was lackluster, and the guy had to but it short bc he almost fell off. Severely disappointed. You can save your money and see just as good of a performance at any Busker type festival. The kids (aged 5) were bored to death and kept saying, "They just keep doing the same stuff over and over. When can we go?" The intermission took up a huge part of the show. The light saber I bought burnt out in the first two minutes. Pretty sad, when the highlight of the whole show for my kids was the five-minute bouncy castle ride during intermission. First circus I've been to since I was little and, for sure, the last one I'll be attending for some time unless it's Cirque de Soleil.

    True Circus!

by Anonymous on 2012-04-09Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Very entertaining! Loved that this circus had so many animals. This is a true circus! Loved the Camels. Actually rode a camel with my daughter. We both enjoyed the experience. We came out of the circus feeling good about it. It seemed the staff loved & took care of the animals as if they are family.

Quite a ripoff, prices too high, ten dollars for a child to ride on a pony! Audio from the ringmaster so garbled that I didn't understand a word he said. Poor lighting.

    Circus Disappointment

by Northerntravler on 2012-04-07Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Ticket price was reasonable. The daredevil acts were really cool. The spinning pendulum made me nervous for the stuntman. The contorshanist was amazing. Horses, elephant, camels, and , zebra we're trained well. I was not really impressed with the black panther and house cat act, the one clown who just wore normal clothes and acted silly, and the ringmaster who had on a nice white suit with tails but must have lots his top hat in his travels. Maybe I remember from when I was a kid when the cats jumped through hoops, not just from platform to platform to retreive a treat. And this ringmaster spoke in a monotone voice who blew a loud whistle into the microphone which pierced your ears. I kept waiting for the excitement in his voice but it never became evident. The clown, oh the clown. My children and I were expecting many clowns in bright costumes with painted on happy or sad faces riding big bicycles or unicycles, juggling pins or balls to circus music. Instead there was just one man acting silly. I was not impressed! The music was another thing. It was extremely loud, modern and heavy tunes. The one animal trainer had to motion for the music to be turned down as one could clearly see if was upsetting the zebra and camels. Maybe I am just old fashioned but I was just really expecting an overall traditional circus show. To me including all the fine details is what helps make a show/performance an unforgettable one. Just for thought, if you would not sell a car without the wheels and windows why would a circus performance leave out the clowns a circus music? We also had a hard time watching the ladies on the hanging material spinning around, as the spotlights were right in our eyes. I would not recommend a show like this to a child under 3. My 3 yr son wanted to leave after 15 minutes as did the little girl, about the same age, who was sitting with her parents behind us. The expensive novilty blue light swords also made it difficult to see the performance. Children who were sitting in front of us were waving these making it very distracting.

    Circus Mondo a sad display

by Daddissapointed on 2012-04-05Brandt Centre - Evraz Place - Regina

Took our son to circus mondo the other night and maybe I've been spoiled by Cirque du Soleil but I couldn't help but feel ripped off by how unpolished it all was. The conductor didn't really seem to care, they began cleaning up while the show was still on, the tricks were just that: tricks, with no link between the present act and the upcoming. In fact, the performers weren't even that good at them...stumbling many times. I kept thinking: "I hope my 4 yr old son likes this cause that's the only reason we went--unfortunately he asked to go home half way through and the only highlight was buying a light stick and seeing an elephant. That's $90 I'll never see again...too bad I didn't just put it toward a show that is worth every penny: Cirque du Soleil.
