Circus Mondo was a great show!

by DaveE on 2011-04-04MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I thought that the Circus Mondo show was very entertaining for kids and adults. I also thought it was great that the audience had an opportunityt to ride the elephant and camels during intermission and after the show. I would recommend that show to families with young children.

    So-so

by FrankieG on 2011-04-04MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Perhaps I was expecting more (too many cirque du soleil viewings), but overall as an adult this is really low budget, and at times makes you feel uncomfortable to watch. Our children however liked it, and that's what it is all about. I was just disappointed with the single clown, artists that hoola hooped, juggled, and basic stuff like that. I felt the animals were not under control properly, and really, you just feel bad for them. I think if there were more trapeze, tight ropes, etc. with humans it would be more interesting... the animal shows were just plain boring.

Circus Mondo - needs more practise.

by donx on 2011-04-03MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I was entertained but the whole event seemed a bit unprofessional. I couldn't hear the ring master, not because he was too quiet, but because the amplification was so clipped all you could make out was three words in a sentence. I could not understand any of the performer's names he kept shouting into the mic. The ribbon performers were less than spectacular, the ball of death had only two rides, I've seen 5 in one cage before. The clown wasn't funny at all and demeaned the acts of two of the performers by intruding on their space. The motor cycle high wire was barely visible because the spot lights didn't hit the cycle. The horses were great - I wish I could have seen it though, the spot light in my eye and the missing lights on them did leave something to be desired. The ladies on the rings were amazingly good. The father and son on the balance boards where excellent and fun. The animal acts were good even if the Dad had to fix up some of the acts that weren't working - I especially like the elephant, baboons and the black panther (first time I have seen that in a circus). Over all I give it 7 out of 10 - worth seeing but not as good as it could be - more practice, more acts, better lighting and a live band would have added to the mix.

    Mondo lame

by Elephantpoo on 2011-04-03MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I've been to many Shrine circus' in the past and this version was not nearly as entertaining. There seemed to be something missing. No flying trapeze act. Only one clown. No flying cannon ball. No clowns cramming into a small car. No magic element to the show. You know , the usual circus stuff. Whatever happened to the old shrine circus?

    okay

It was okay but way to long of an intermission. Lighting was not very good...it was hard to see some of the stuff. We took a 4 year old and he enjoyed but was restless throughout...there were moments hat were exciting but there were also a lot of slow boring moments for him.

This was NOT worth the money!!

by familygurl on 2011-04-03MTS Center - Winnipeg

We wanted to take our kids. because they were giving out free tickets for the kids. So we checked into ticketmaster to get the tickets. and there was a drop box for buy 1 adult get 1 free child - asked me how many tickets of that option i wanted. Well I wanted 2 adults and 2 kids. so since it was the buy 1 get 1. i checked i wanted 2 tickets. for myself and my husband. The kids were "free".. surprised when I got to the mts center they said No i bought tickets for 1 adult and 1 child.. - 2 tickets.. and adult tickets were NOT 15.00 they were 30.00.. so i had to buy an additional 30.00 worth of tickets. On our kids tickets it said (15.00) on it. so it definitely was NOT Free!!! The show started slow.. the announcer didn't sound excited at all!!! The shows were quite short and lame. you had animals run around in circles 3 times, and that was it!! To top it off the most disappointment was the Clown. What is a circus without circus clowns?? there was 1 clown.. what happened to the car full of clowns that would play tricks on each other??? What happened to the mid air acrobatic shows. where there was a net below.. and they would do flips in mid air?? The circus just isn't a circus anymore!!! None of the shows were kid friendly!! my kids fell asleep!! what a waste of money!!!
