About

DANA CARVEY ON TOUR:

Venerable funnyman and Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey is the mastermind behind some of comedy's most beloved personas, from Wayne's World's Garth Algar to SNL's Church Lady. One of the best impersonators in the business, Carvey takes aim at everyone from celebrities to past presidents in his hilarious standup act, only relenting to add off-color but hilariously insightful bits from his personal experience to the mix. Much to the delight of fans, Carvey is shamelessly devoted to pleasing his audience — each routine ends with a 15-minute Q&A where he fields questions and reprises characters from his rich comedic past. His passion was unmistakable on his 2013 tour dates, and fans can expect another priceless round of performances in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Missoula, Montana, Carvey landed some minor film roles in the early '80s before becoming a household name as part of Saturday Night Live's 1986 featured cast. Carvey played a pivotal role in boosting the show's waning popularity, becoming an audience favorite with iconic characters like Church Lady and the bodybuilder Hans of "Hans and Franz." His most famous SNL role, however, was his portrayal of Garth Algar alongside Mike Meyers in the epochal Wayne's World sketches, which spawned one of the most successful movie franchises of the '90s. Over his three decade-spanning career, Carvey has been nominated for six Emmys, cementing his place as one of comedy's modern greats.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"We laughed until we had tears in our eyes. He was so funny! His timing was impeccable."

"My face and stomach muscles were sore until late the next day from laughing and smiling so much! "

"Dana Carvey just gets better with time. Even our young daughter-in-law from the Philippines thought he was great! We really got our money's worth!"

Dana Carvey was great, the other comedians weren't

by JaneP on 2012-10-19Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

Dana Carvey was worth waiting for after the eight other amateur comedians who performed before him. The event was for charity, so I can't really complain...

    Carvey wonderfully funny!

by canadianwife on 2011-09-21The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

His show is very funny, pertinent to the times. We (Canadians) are doing so much better than the Americans. It's nice to hear. Heard people commenting, he(Dana) spent too much time on American humour but really, they have soooo much to make fun of. I enjoyed the show thoroughly.

    Dana Carvey Rocks

by BigMac007 on 2011-09-20The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

This guy is worth every penny. He is really funny and does great impersonations - his Bush and Obama is amazing. He Canadianized some of his program and gave some good laughs about the falls and the casino. Regarding the casino - what a venue to see a concert. Excellent venue, comfortable seats too! I would go again.

    Dana shoots from the hip

by Beercase on 2011-09-19The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Be ready for some time travel, because this show just flew by. Before we knew it, Dana's 90 minute set was over. But it was packed with observations, impersonations and even some music. Realizing this Canadian crowd wasn't responding too well to recent American politics ( Wiener and Cheny ) Dana got the crowd back into it with Ah-nold impersonations, and his hilarious George Bush, both Sr. and Jr. His follies with his teenage children were spot on. I'd go on, but you really have to see his show ! Dana also performed a 10 minute encore of crowd requests.

From start to finish, Dana created laughs on every skit or joke he did. Took requests of favourites from the audience. Brought back many memories of SNL skits along with new material using framiliar characters.

    Love Dana Carvey

by Pamelaannbridget on 2010-10-25The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Went to see the show and had floor seats for the first time. Had a good view of Dana but I do not think there is a bad seat at the Avalon. The person I was with (there for the first time) said they thought the balcony seats on the side of the stage could be nice. First of all, I am wondering why people are so rude and come in late. You know what time the show is - do not disrupt everyone else (not to mention the talent) by coming in late!! Dana Carvey is a super-intelligent guy - he is up on on the latest politics - and has great stories about SNL. He talked about his wife and her admiration for Dipak Chopra. I loved hearing about his teenagers. Hilarious and easy to relate to! He was imitating Regis and I almost peed my pants. George Bush Jr. and switching up his words was the funniest! I think he may have had something really good planned for the piano he had on stage but someone yelled out, "Choppin' Broccoli" and he ended up doing that. It really is classic though. I love Dana Carvey and really enjoyed the show!!! He could do the same stuff over and over and I would still find it hilarious and pay to go see it!!!
