    Fair thee well tour

by jimboc on 2018-10-05Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Joan is doing her last tour so had to go. She was interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning News a while back and said her voice is just not what it was, can’t get to some of those note anymore so this is her last tour. She sounded pretty good to me. It’s Joan Baez, americans, folk, protest songs, it was great.

Great sound quality, lighting and of course performance. I was expecting more solo by Joan Baez but regardless, it was a pleasure to listen to her beautiful voice and admire her energy and enjoy her humor.

    Poor sound and sightings

by ricikesan on 2017-06-19Massey Hall - Toronto

Seats were stage left way up in the nose bleed section. The speakers hid the view of most of the band. Sight line impossible. Joan Baez music a little too old, the indigo girls a little too young. Not enough of Mary Chapin Carpenter. Poor value and a huge disappointment. 2 hour set for 4 different singers also poor value.

    Astonishing performance in beautiful theatre

by Pippinator on 2016-11-18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

We were visiting from UK. This may be the best Baez concert we have ever attended, which is amazing. Not only is Joan's voice still astonishing in its power and range, but she has stayed true to her beliefs throughout. So glad to have seen her in the beautiful Oakland Fox theatre, and just so sad that all the hope and promise of the night was dashed the following day. God not only bless but help America now

    Come From the Shadows

by bayoubunny66 on 2011-11-25Keswick Theatre - Glenside, Philadelphia

Once Joan was settled comfortably in an extra scarf she enveloped the theatre in a warm glow and proceeded to push away the rust. Her voice has retained its haunting plaintive quality. Her songs still resonate. She spoke of her visit to Zuccotti park where she dusted off Joe Hill and changed the lyrics to an old song to update its relevance. That of course is what folk singing is all about. She was accompanied by a young fellow who played a myriad of instruments and added some nice vocals.
