It was really nice to hear Rick Derringer by himself and his back up band. He is still an amazing guitar player and it was a good concert with good music.

Rick Derringer's performance was terrific. The songs and energy level were extremely high. His band was rocking as well! Unfortunately the concert was way too short. After an hour of playing he was done until he came back for a 20 minute encore. Not sure if he was teasing us or he ran out of steam. It's too bad because he didn' t play my husband's favourite song.
Rick Derringer put on a great show. His playiing has not dimished at all. Would love to see him again.
The unfortunate part about this concert is it was only one hour long. Derringer is very personable, has a good patter in addition to his skills as a musician. An hour was absolutely too short a time for this event. Regardless of the ticket price, getting there, etc. almost made this event not worth the trouble.
This is the third time I've seen Rick Derringer, but the first as a solo act. He is one of the most underrated guitarists of the rock generation. He is so versatile, blending many different styles into his playing. And he still plays like he means it! Considering how many years he's been performing, and the number of times he's played some of these tunes, he still sounds inspired and plays with soul. Whether he's the headliner or part of someone else's band (Ringo's Allstar Band) I would go out of my way to watch Rick play the guitar again. Bring him back to the Avalon and I'll be there.
Few songs played. What were played were mostly out of key. Just because you are aging you do not have to look like 18 year olds jumping and making faces. Take a page from Sir Paul McCartney , class all the way. . I did not appreciate being called "american" or listening to the star spangled banner in guitar or the American saving the world song. I have to say it was the most insincere worst performance I have had the waste of time to see!
