About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

    Great Show

    by B. S. on 2023-10-03

Thought-provoking, a combination of Pink Floyd and solo songs. Not for the faint of heart, it is a super dark evening that does not make you feel particularly good about the world. But it is a master at work.

A paranoid a concert, crowded audiences, narrow seatspaces

    by H. W. on 2023-05-29Centre Bell - Montreal

Not bad for a well-rehearsed concert expected the artist was exaggerating his biased ideas and projecting his personal illusions onto the large scaled screen at the center of the arena! Was the price of the ticket worth the show? I felt I have learned nothing new after this particular concert.

    A legend

by Jac on 2022-11-06Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Roger Waters is a legend, someone we need to honour. The way he uses his voice, music and platform to call for social justice across the globe is extraordinaire. If every artist (or everyone really) used their privilege to help fight for equal rights, the world would be a much better place. It was my first time seeing him and, even though I recognize he might be tired of touring for so many decades, I wish I could see him live again. Much respect for him.

    Disappointing concert

    by L. H. on 2022-10-10

We saw him in Zürich in 2018 and this concert in Edmonton 2022 was not even close to the 4 years ago (as someone else already noted) some Pink Floyd songs were cut short, many of them not even played, the lady’s vocals and child choir were absent also too much politics were shown. This was last time we went. The reason I’m saying all these because I have something to compare to.

Play some Floyd and give up the politics.

by Some guy on 2022-10-04Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Crowd loved the Floyd tunes. When he started talking about politics it sucked. Also the constant politics on the screen was exhausting.

Not nearly as good as 2017

by Jimmy on 2022-09-30Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Last time Roger came through it was epic. This time was a disappointment. A few Pink Floyd songs massively outnumbered by Roger's solo career and a stage that can only be half seen from the upper bowl. Sorry Roger but no one came to see your solo career songs.

    Rad, Timeless, Inspiring, Powerful

by TrueBlue on 2022-09-27Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Classic but as relevant today as he was almost half a century ago. Who can say that? Amazing person, amazing show.

    Soul stirring

by Miriam D. on 2022-09-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

What a concert! The music, the courageous political messages and Roger Waters stirred my mind, soul and every fibre of my being. Special thanks to all the workers who were labouring and keeping the place clean. I hope they are paid a fair living wage.
