About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

Roger Waters Concert - Not a Drill, Vancouver, B.C.

    by C. D. on 2022-09-26Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Engaging and provocative - a visually, musically and emotionally immersive experience. A reminder of how influential the music of Roger Waters and Pink Floyd altogether have been on my life and clearly those in the audience. His support band and singers were excellent. The stories were great too, especially his text account displayed on the screen of the early days with Sid Barrett, showing the development of the band through old film, video and photos from that era ... all to the masterfully played music of Wish You Were Here (if I remember correctly) and Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Magic! Despite having been to every concert Roger and/or the band have performed in Vancouver since 1973ish (Wish You Were Here tour) - even Roger's performance at a small stage during Expo '86 and later, Glastonbury 2002, he has never disappointed. I hope he stays healthy and loving the music so we'll see and hear him in Vancouver many times again!

    Too much Stupidity With Graphics

by Zalan on 2022-09-25Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Have all ways enjoyed Pink Floyd but don’t find Rodger Waters represent of The Band any longer! His anti Israel stance is Anti Semitic are offensive . I don’t want to be ‘preached’ to at a rock concert. But now I know Id never go to or buy anything from tickets to music to tee shirts of his. I m sad that another Brick has been put in ‘ the wall’. His show should have trigger warnings with ticket sales if he ever comes again. Understand Poland is preparing to ban his Show because of his juvenile and totally untrue messages to Ukrainian First Lady! He’s really gone off the tracks.

    Regular

The screens did not allow the band to be seen, so there was only a very limited view of the band.

A spectical of music and media

by Randman on 2022-09-24Rogers Arena - Vancouver

At 83, Roger is simply amazing in concert. His band is tight and professional and the stage shiw in second to none. I saw Pink Floyd twice and although fantastic, they have nothing on Roger's production. Slick and exciting. Easily in the top 5 of concerts I have seen, and I've seen more than 200 artists live. Complete with floating sheep and flying pigs.

One of the best shows I have ever seen. I waited years to hear pink Floyd music live and sung by an original member. Made it really special. Thanks

    Amazing show

by Chelle on 2022-09-22Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was a phenomenal show. The stage was set up so that every seat had a cool view. The videos were well thought out and vivid. Obviously Roger was amazing- he’s still got it. The only hiccup of the night was getting into the venue (insane lines) and a very loud and obnoxious group a few seats down that security didn’t attempt to calm. Rogers Arena- do better!

    Intensive

by Pink Floyd Fan on 2022-09-21Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I went to the concert expecting to be relaxed and entertained. Instead I was accosted with politics and imagery of death. Yes, I know the worlds a brutal place but this is why we have entertainment for escapism. Not so with Roger

    AMAZING AS ALWAYS

by Pink Anderson on 2022-09-21Rogers Place - Edmonton

It was the third time that I had the pleasure of attending a ROGER WATERS concert here in Edmonton. The man and his band never disappoint! I only wish that he didn't have to get any older! I'd like to be able to attend his concerts until I turn 80 or 90 yrs old.

    Amazing sound, deeply felt words

by MarkFloydFan on 2022-09-21Rogers Place - Edmonton

Remember the first time you heard Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall? The sound was all around you. The roger waters concert in Edmonton made that happen. It was great. The videos and images connected the music and the messages. The songs were moving and bombastic. It was a show to remember.

Pretty Good...not as good as last show tho

by Peter on 2022-09-21Rogers Place - Edmonton

The "in the round" concept did not work well, in my opinion. Super political overtones but you kinda expect that at these shows and that's ok. Conspicuous absence of Putin imagery but lots of Biden Clinton, Reagan...that bothered me.

    Once in a lifetime

by Patty Cakes on 2022-09-20Rogers Place - Edmonton

I have been to over 100 rock concerts and this one takes the cake. Roger is an incredible human, spreading a very important message. Aside from the show and what he was doing with his message- the atmosphere, the music, and the theatrics were awe inspiring. I can honestly say that it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Thank you so much.

    The show was awesome, but.

by Kay on 2022-09-20Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The show was incredible, but the line up was awful and we missed the beginning of the show, even tho I’ve never late for any concerts in my life. What bothered me the most is, nobody seems to care. I understand the shortage of the staff, maybe there’s not enough machines too. But we payed a lot. I ended up listening to the sound of the beginning at the gate, waited for the broken machine to be fixed/exchanged, thinking like “this might be the last time I could see Roger”… The show was awesome enough to forget about this s***, but since automatic email asked me to write a review, so I wrote. Wishing nobody would experience this ever again.

    Fantastic

by Chipguy on 2022-09-20Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Fantastic sound and visuals made for an unforgettable experience. I'm not a huge fan of RW's post Pink Floyd work or his political views and I was still blown away. Thank you Roger and crew, 79 years young and still rockin' on!
