    Dirty Heads awesome..Dean blundell + friends...NOT

by Anonymous on 2013-01-04Sound Academy - Toronto

Bottom line I would not come to a Dean Blundell show again. I came to see the Dirty Heads...they came on so late that I only got to hear about 5 songs. The reason why? Dean Blundell and the rest of the gang talked and talked and talked. I honestly figured they would talk a bit...but for hours and hours. It came to a point where the crowd got so sick of them talking that they began chanting "bring on the dirty heads". Our chants were ignored. The venue was in the middle of nowhere so that was also a bummer. Conclusion: I will go see the Dirty Heads again, and the other bands that played ( I Mother Earth, The Salads) but I'll skip the show if it involves Dean.

Aside from the smoking that was going on inside the venue, it was a good event.

    Sucked - missed USS :(

    by Lyds1234 on 2012-12-10Sound Academy - Toronto

The doors opened at 7pm but no warning the band we came to see wouldn't actually be performing until 11:30pm. Expected to wait for three bands to perform first before USS would be going on and the first band didn't even start until 9pm - felt like I was at a night club instead of a concert. We left - bored to tears and not pleased that USS was not going to be on until so late. Normal concerts go like this: Doors 7pm First band 7:30 If second band - 8:15 Headliners - 9pm at latest. Edgefest Jingle Bell: first band started at 9, finished at 930, told us there were two more, including take down and set up before USS - no thanks! Went home. So sad I missed my favourite band of all time!!!!!!!!!

    Great from start to finish!

by LeahAnneli on 2012-12-10Sound Academy - Toronto

This show was spectacular! USS started off with an unexpected, acrobatic entrance from the ceiling. They then played almost every song they had ever written, including their most popular singles, rare acoustic songs, and even a new track. They ended with stripped down versions of Pornostartrek and I Need Weed Like A Career, which made the crowd go crazy. So much fun!

    extremely disorganized!

by USSfan on 2012-12-10Sound Academy - Toronto

event was advertised as starting at 7pm. first opening act came on stage at 8:15!! (long wait!?) 3 opening acts later (and lots of waiting around) USS finally took the stage at 11:30! (way to late). moshpit was out of control the whole time. spent way to much time standing and waiting around only to be pushed and shoved for hours.

    USS was UNREAL

    by Michelle1234 on 2012-12-10Sound Academy - Toronto

USS was awesome! They are great performers and were very enjoyable! This was my third time seeing them live. The only problem was that there were 3 bands that played before them and they came on at 11:30pm. It was a long night of standing and listening to bands I didn't know but USS made it all worth it. I would say go see USS any chance you have!

    Alright

by rebeccarevenge on 2010-12-22Sound Academy - Toronto

I have been a very big MCR fan since 2005 so I was happy to hear The Edge was putting this together (thanks guys!) Overall they preformed really well (even if Bob isn't there anymore) They played a good mix of old songs and new songs. I was a little disapointed with the length of the concert. They knew so many of us have waited since 07 to see them. Otherwise.. so happy MCR are back!
