The Dirty Heads, Ill Scarlet and Rebel Emergency were all AMAZING! What a great show. Everyone was partying and having a good time. Got to meet a few of the musicians, and they were super down to Earth and really thankful that we came to enjoy the show. Probably the best concert we have ever been to.

    AMAZING

    by M3GAN on 2010-12-21Sound Academy - Toronto

It was such an amazing, fun filled concert! MCR played a great balance of old and new songs which satisfied everyone. I could tell that they really enjoyed playing this show, and that made it even better. The best concert I've been to yet!

by DisappointedParent on 2010-12-21Sound Academy - Toronto

There were several things wrong with this event: 1. The venue itself is not very good. There is only one door in and out of the place (for regular non-emergency traffic) and this makes it very lengthy getting in and out, especially in the winter when you have to pick up your coat at the coat check....which is right in the main lobby and further crowds the area. 2. My Chemical Romance was good....but they came back on for an encore and played one (that's right, one) song. Who does that? I've been to a lot of concerts and have NEVER seen that. That was rather disappointing for my son. 3. Would it kill the Sound Academy to put a bench along the back wall? There were several parents back there and there was no place to sit...in fact there was ONE chair....which a woman had and didn't leave all night (I wouldn't have either!). But seriously, other venues have benches for those who want to sit. Since this wasn't a concert that I wanted to attend, I would have liked to sit. 4. Worst of all....the parking. This was the icing on the cake and the reason I will NEVER attend an event at the Sound Academy again. It was 40 (FORTY!) minutes before we even moved an inch. There is only one exit out of the parking lot, cars parked on both sides of the street (and the street is a dead end....so, many were trying to turn around).....I mean there has to be a better way. Maybe don't allow parking on the street and then open up a second exit area. Really, really, bad.

Band was great, venue was horrible.

by SoniaxLoves on 2010-12-21Sound Academy - Toronto

I payed for VIP tickets thinking I would be on the balcony instead I was on the floor with all the billions of people. It was horrible. There was no room to move. I wanted to go to the merch booth and couldn't even make my way there cause it was packed with people. If I had known that I would be with everyone in general admission I would have bought the cheaper tickets. The band was absolutely fantastic but I couldn't get a good view because all of the people packed in together. I'll see My Chemical Romance again but I won't ever go to this venue.

    Wintersleep was pure Wickedness

by Fozz on 2010-12-12The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Wintersleep played a purely wicked concert at the Phoenix Friday Dec. 10th, and if you missed it you missed out. What a great show, containing both new and old hits and well as a nice surprise bestowed on their adoring fans as the band treated us to a not yet recoded or released song, that was just as fantastic as the rest of their material.

    Amazing live band

by Eulogy on 2010-12-12The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I had never been to the Phoenix as its about an hour and half out of my way. When Wintersleep was announced as part of Edges Jingle Bell Rock I was really excited to check them out again. The venue is fairly easy to get to with ample parking directly across the street. Edge interns were talking to people outside, asking for donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank. There were some more Edge personalities in the club who were social and walking through the crowd engaging people. With 3 bars on the main floor its easy to grab a drink with little wait time. The opener was Chore - hadn't heard them before and wasnt overly impressed. Wintersleep was lively, engaged the crowd, sang a good mix of some old, current and a new song. They were greatly appreciative of the crowd and the amount of people who had shown up. All in all it was great concert and Id definitely check out another Wintersleep concert, and maybe even another Edge Jingle Bell Rock event.

    Arkells Show Phoenix 2010

by AlexCress on 2010-12-06The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

The arkells were incredible once again... I saw them twice in Guelph over the past two years and their show quality has really taken off. The concert lighting was perfect and every member of the band was really at their best on Friday. They're going to be huge. Can't wait for the new album and to see them again.
