Did not get to see them perform, but met them!

by SweetNAMese on 2016-10-06Horse Shoe Tavern on Queen Street - Toronto, ON

I wanted to see them at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto but had already bought tickets to see Melissa O'Neil and Rex Goudie back in 2005 at Massey Hall. But once the show ended, my friends and I rushed to the HS Tavern to see if we can catch the end of their set, but was unable to get in as my friends were under aged (19+ bar). It was a chilly evening. The Veronicas heard from the bouncer that we were waiting outside and couldn't go inside, they came out after their set to greet us in the cold - shivering. Stayed for about 5-10 minutes to chat and even gave us all big hugs. They were definitely two of the sweetest girls I've met in the music industry. Super friendly and talented. Definitely would love to see them perform in the city again - this time, no more under aged friends lol.

    The Veribucas @ Circa

by Thenewmadmax on 2009-08-04Circa - Toronto

I have always been a fan of The Veronicas, but I had a feeling that they were one of those bands that are good on CD, but suck live. This was true at first but after a few songs and they had warmed up they came into their own. Great act, and Circa turned out to be a jem of a venue! Built for dancing the night away, Circa's sound system had no problem delivering! No encore though, so it was a bit on the short side.

    The Veronicas Rocked Out

by tofuninja on 2009-07-21Venue - Vancouver

Paying a small amount for admission, I didn't come in to the concert expecting anything groundbreaking nor did I expect anything lengthy. I've liked the Veronicas for a while, and had bought their sophomore album so I already knew what type of music I would hear. What was surprising though, was that there was not one, but two opening acts. The first opening act, Carny, was not to my taste, but I did enjoy the Pretty Reckless as their music blended better with that of The Veronicas. The Veronicas were amazing live. Perfect vocal ability, even better than on their CD. They seemed very friendly to the fans, showing lots of gratitude when receiving gifts. They also talked a lot to the crowd despite a bit of a cramped venue. The only reason I gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5 was because the setup time in between acts took way too long. Nearly half an hour between each act! If the setup was a bit more seamless and efficient, it would've been an Amazing Concert!

The Veronicas - what a show!

by Yorkie on 2009-07-17Venue - Vancouver

The venue was perfect, we were really close to the stage. The girls performed so well, they have amazing voices and really showed them off. The drummer is something else, his tricks were cool!! The vibe was great - everyone singing along, they had picked a great set list. Must also mention that they had 2 great supporting acts too, I especially liked The Pretty Reckless.

    Great Band Horrible Venue

by simplydelerious on 2009-07-17Venue - Vancouver

I went to this show on a whim and was pleasantly suprised. The Veronicas put on a killer show it's too bad the venue couldn't keep up with them. Taylor Momsen was a great opening act as well, she really helped prepare the crowd. Unfortunately after this event I will not attend another show at The Venue as the sound was atrocious. The mic's had continual feedback and were never at the right pitch. The drummer for the most part was the only thing you could hear. So again, the girls were great!

    taylor stole the show

by mcpretty on 2009-07-16Venue - Vancouver

the veronicas are good, don't get me wrong. but it was Pretty Reckless' lead Taylor Momsen that put the icing on the cake. Who would have though that sweet little J could rock so well. with that amazing, raspy voice, poetic and girly lyrics and model stature, this girl will go far with her music.

    Veronica's Rock Venue

    by Brynna87 on 2009-07-16Venue - Vancouver

For the price of the ticket, which compared to most shows was a steal, this proved to be quite an excellent show. Simple set list, simple and very small stage, and a plain band. Coming from several stadium shows outfitted with the latest in exciting effects, it was quite lovely to simply sit and watch a show just for the music. The girls are beyond talented, and their music, which I think blends the goodness of the 80's with the hottness of today, was fantastic. My only complaints really would be the location...the club didn't really have any seating to view the show, and unless you wanted to be squished against a couple hundred strangers, getting close to the stage was impossible. I ended up watching from the balcony which had a pretty good view, but felt cut off from the show.

    The Veronicas Rocked!

by BStar on 2009-07-16Venue - Vancouver

The Veronicas were exactly as you would expect - A great act, intimate show. My only complaint was that I wished it had been a little longer. The opening act, "The Pretty Restless", led my Gossip Girl actress Taylor M were amazing, but started pretty early (8pm). The Veronicas were on by 9sh and only went until just after 10pm. We just wanted more. I would totally see them again, and loved the intimate feeling of "Venue". Can't wait for the next show.
