    Pan Am opening was AWESOME!

by TamTamJ on 2015-07-13PAD-Pan Am Ceremonies Venue - Toronto

I was amazed with the whole event. They organized the entire day that went beyond my expectations. The show was spectacular, customer service excellent, venue terrific and overall experience awesome. To those who wrote otherwise, think about the total planning, time and energy it took to bring this to our country. AWESOME!

    A Spectacle

by jeek on 2015-07-13PAD-Pan Am Ceremonies Venue - Toronto

It was great that 150 children had this unforgettable chance to be part of a Cirque du Soleil performance. The costumes were fantastic. Beautiful. The parade of the Canadian athletes and their welcome from the audience was moving. I seriously watched for the dome to crack open to let Bailey in. My greatest disappointment is that I did not see the CN tower fireworks. How great would that have been if the dome had opened to let us see that. I found a lot of the show puzzling. But not in a bad way.

    Made for tv

by PanAmFan12345 on 2015-07-13PAD-Pan Am Ceremonies Venue - Toronto

To start off with all tickets and infoation asked everyone to be in their seats by 645. Only to have to watch a time killer hour and fifteen minutes put on by cbc. Complete waste of time. Real show didn't start until 8. Was good to watch the athletes enter as we were right near the entrance. Otherwise most of the show was difficult to really see. I'm sure it was better in TV. The tiny little video screens were useless. Why not make use of the huge jumbotron?

PAN AM Opening Ceremony is very disappointing

by Liza123 on 2015-07-13PAD-Pan Am Ceremonies Venue - Toronto

I personally feel extremely disappointed. We spent $1600 for front row tickets. We were reminded numerous times to arrive 6:45pm to hear one hour of " useless speech" from 3 hosts. There is NOT enough one Canadian celebrity to perform a song at the event There is enough budget to hire a movie director to coordinate an opening. There is lots of volunteers but enough people to perform an opening that bring the top Canadian spirit to the game Very Very Disappointed. I really do not think there is enough leadership in the whole event. Everything rises and fall on leadership ! We have the resource but have no leadership in coordinating a proper

    Pan Am Opening Amazng

by Fanoldtime on 2015-07-13PAD-Pan Am Ceremonies Venue - Toronto

Swell of pride seeing the athletes from 41 countries enter the stadium, Cirque du Soliel, all the Canadians carrying the torch and flag like Donovan Bailey, Bobby Orr, Chris Hadfield, Marnie McBean, Steve Nash, Mark Messier, so many more. Loved seeing the crowd cheer their country of origin and others, Toronto & Canada welcomed the Pan Americas proudly. One negative was the embarrassingly small 3 screens the audience was dependant on watching to get closer view of what was happening- considering we were in Rogers multimedia centre- we all expected much more of Rogers screenwise. And not being able to see the fireworks due to dome closure. The preshow was not good, not detailed in the ticket that the actual show started at 8pm. But overall a great evening.

As expected it was a great opening event, well organized and kids friendly. My daughter has a blast! Perfect seats (115 section). My comment would go to the Hosts...i was expecting a better hosts...and may be a couple of good singers on stage...
