About

Alanis Morissette established herself as the foremost female singer-songwriter of the 1990s with her 16-time platinum-certified third album Jagged Little Pill, released in 1995. The Ottawa, Ontario native had already released her 1991 debut Alanis and 1992’s Now Is the Time before graduating high school and moving to Los Angeles, where Morrisette began to develop Jagged Little Pill. After its release, Jagged Little Pill gained steam behind singles like “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “Ironic” and “You Learn,” propelling the album to Morissette’s first of three consecutive No. 1s on the Billboard 200. At the 1996 Grammys, she claimed four trophies including Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for “You Oughta Know.” The album has sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, and remains one of the all-time best-selling albums in the U.S. 1998’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and 2002’s Under Swept Rug followed, led by singles like “Thank U” and “Hands Clean.” In 2018, Morissette debuted the musical Jagged Little Pill, which reimagines her catalog while adding several new, original compositions, and the production moved to Broadway a year later — landing 15 Tony nominations and two wins as well as a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. Morisette then released her ninth and tenth studio albums, 2020’s Such Pretty Forks in the Road and 2022’s The Storm Before the Calm

    Alanis still has it!!

    by Danoman2 on 2022-08-01Rogers Place - Edmonton

High energy show with excellent vocals. She did not dissappoint with all of her big hits mixed in with some of her recent work. Loved it!

    Great show

by Jamie on 2022-08-01Rogers Place - Edmonton

The show was great but the sound could have been a little better. Garbage performed and their sound was crisp but when Alanis came on, the sound wasn’t as good.

Love the preformers but the sound was terrible!

by Jana on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

The first band Garage was pitch perfect and enjoyed every part of it but Alanis- the powerhouse that she is- her sound was difficult to listen to for certain songs- could not even make out the lyrics- and the harmonica from her hot mike was painful! Seriously some major sound/tech issues from where we were sitting!

    Still just as powerful

by ThePointyKitty on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

25 years later and the songs and performances are still just as relevant and emotional. Beautiful show!

Top 5 shows of my life

by Darkcloud on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

I had high hopes for this show and it blew my expectations out of the water. Opening act Garbage set the tone early and gave the fans what they wanted. Alanis come on and honestly sounds better now than she ever has. No gimmicks, no filler. Just hit after hit and held the crowds attention from start to end.

    Bucket List CHECK

    by MISS1981 on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

Not what I was hoping for. Found the video screens more enjoyable to watch than Alanis. Out of breath the first half of the show. A little pre-tour cardio wouldnt have hurt. If I closed my eyes I could visualize what I anticipated. That womans voice. Wow!. The of pipes on her is still incredible after all these years. She had forever-fans in the crowd. The beautiful tribute to Taylor brought me to sobbing tears. It was a wonderful jesture to include that. I feel a two day, slightly smaller more intimate venue would have been wonderful. Was pleasantly suprised when out whole section was given floor/lower bowl next to the stage seating. Thank you for coming to town. Bucket list CHECK!

The concert was fabulous. The throw back vids of all of the singers that covered Alanis were also great. I heard all of my fave Alanis songs and even felt nostalgic. Had a great time.

    Incredible Energy

    by J. P. on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

Garbage was incredible. Shirley was a class act. Always come back to Canada! But Alanis added to them made a powerful feminine energy light up the whole arena. It was almost transcendent. I had tears streaming. It was very moving. Even husband liked it!
