Alanis Morissette established herself as the foremost female singer-songwriter of the 1990s with her 16-time platinum-certified third album Jagged Little Pill, released in 1995. The Ottawa, Ontario native had already released her 1991 debut Alanis and 1992’s Now Is the Time before graduating high school and moving to Los Angeles, where Morrisette began to develop Jagged Little Pill. After its release, Jagged Little Pill gained steam behind singles like “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “Ironic” and “You Learn,” propelling the album to Morissette’s first of three consecutive No. 1s on the Billboard 200. At the 1996 Grammys, she claimed four trophies including Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for “You Oughta Know.” The album has sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, and remains one of the all-time best-selling albums in the U.S. 1998’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and 2002’s Under Swept Rug followed, led by singles like “Thank U” and “Hands Clean.” In 2018, Morissette debuted the musical Jagged Little Pill, which reimagines her catalog while adding several new, original compositions, and the production moved to Broadway a year later — landing 15 Tony nominations and two wins as well as a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. Morisette then released her ninth and tenth studio albums, 2020’s Such Pretty Forks in the Road and 2022’s The Storm Before the Calm.

Seriously some major sound/tech issues from where we were sitting!

Opening act Garbage set the tone early and gave the fans what they wanted. Alanis come on and honestly sounds better now than she ever has. No gimmicks, no filler. Just hit after hit and held the crowds attention from start to end.

A little pre-tour cardio wouldnt have hurt. If I closed my eyes I could visualize what I anticipated. That womans voice. Wow!. The of pipes on her is still incredible after all these years. She had forever-fans in the crowd. The beautiful tribute to Taylor brought me to sobbing tears. It was a wonderful jesture to include that. I feel a two day, slightly smaller more intimate venue would have been wonderful. Was pleasantly suprised when out whole section was given floor/lower bowl next to the stage seating. Thank you for coming to town. Bucket list CHECK!
