About

Alanis Morissette established herself as the foremost female singer-songwriter of the 1990s with her 16-time platinum-certified third album Jagged Little Pill, released in 1995. The Ottawa, Ontario native had already released her 1991 debut Alanis and 1992’s Now Is the Time before graduating high school and moving to Los Angeles, where Morrisette began to develop Jagged Little Pill. After its release, Jagged Little Pill gained steam behind singles like “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “Ironic” and “You Learn,” propelling the album to Morissette’s first of three consecutive No. 1s on the Billboard 200. At the 1996 Grammys, she claimed four trophies including Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for “You Oughta Know.” The album has sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, and remains one of the all-time best-selling albums in the U.S. 1998’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and 2002’s Under Swept Rug followed, led by singles like “Thank U” and “Hands Clean.” In 2018, Morissette debuted the musical Jagged Little Pill, which reimagines her catalog while adding several new, original compositions, and the production moved to Broadway a year later — landing 15 Tony nominations and two wins as well as a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. Morisette then released her ninth and tenth studio albums, 2020’s Such Pretty Forks in the Road and 2022’s The Storm Before the Calm

    Thank you!

by Lola on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

Honestly I’ve seen shows, concerts, performers… nothing compares to Alanis, she’s truly talented - beyond what I expected. So happy to have had the experience. Hands down would do it again, and again.

    Short concert, sound issues

by tjk on 2022-07-31Rogers Place - Edmonton

Only 15 songs, almost all off her first album. 90 min show. Vocals were too low, the band drowned her out. She needs a new sound engineer, I see that people complained about the same thing a year ago!

    Great Alanis

by Robi on 2022-07-31Centre Bell - Montreal

The concert was great, Alanis has a fantastic and powerful voice. He sang his great hits with passion and sympathy. In the opening, Garbage gave a biting and brilliant imprint to the concert

    Isn’t that ironic

by Limo crew on 2022-07-31Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Sound wasn’t that great in the saddledome. We were at the top to the right of the stage. and she was not playing her “hit songs” after the first one…. We actually left the concert early. Never done that before in my life. Wouldn’t go to her concert again. Could barley make out the words she was singing 😏

    The best!!!

by Kim on 2022-07-31Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

The concert was amazing! The Saddledome was great. Helpful and friendly staff; they helped us find our seat, entertained my husband while I was using the facilities, and were so welcoming! The concert itself was amazing because it was Alanis! Nothing could have been better!

OMG What a Voice! Best Concert Ever!

by Liane Pinel Consulting on 2022-07-31Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

This was seriously the best concert that I have attended at the Saddledome and I have been to a lot. Although the sound for Garbage, the opening act, was not the greatest, they were fun and I could make out the words to a few of the songs. Alanis, on the other hand, was freaking amazing! Her voice strength was mind blowing and crystal clear and bang on all night! And she came back for her encore with grace and gratitude and rocked the roof off even after singing her heart out! I left with no voice as I sang every single song with her, me at 57 and my eldest son, at 32! (Her concert was my Mother’s Day gift!) I sang every song with him 25 years ago and this night was so very special. I truly wasn’t sure she still had that fire in her soul and boy did she ever prove that she IS that fire! I would go again in a heartbeat! Oh annnnd….. the guest services were awesome, the waitress and hostess at the Telus Club were amazing and went above and beyond. So thrilled with the way we were treated. Must try the buffet next time!

by Les on 2022-07-30Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Warm up band Garbage was fantastic. I have never seen a better opening act. Alanis surprised me as to how powerful her voice really is. No talking, just song after song. Nice tribute to Taylor Hawkins You will not be disappointed

    Great time

by KittenMttn on 2022-07-30Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Honestly, had an absolute blast. Garbage was amazing, was super happy to hear a great mix of their tunes from both older and newer albums and loved how much Shirley was interacting with the crowd. Alanis is an awesomely talented singer and it was a joy to just listen to her. She could have sang the user manual for my washing machine and I would have been enthralled. Wish they didn't run out of sizes for some of the merch but that's just the way merch tables go. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening. :)

Garbage opened and they could have been a headliner. Shirley was amazing. Alanis didn't disappoint and she sang like a bird.

    Good entertainment

by Concert goer on 2022-07-30Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Good but not great. The seats were a bit too far away and I didn’t know all the lyrics to her songs and couldn’t hear them clearly because of poor acoustics in the arena

    Alanis Morrisette with Garage

by Unykorn on 2022-07-30Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

I was so excited to see both Alanis and Garbage. We were not disappointed, they both sounded amazing and it was just one big singfest with me and my friends. Garbage sang all the old favourites as did Alanis Morissette. Alanis sang Ironic and dedicated it to Taylor Hawkins, very emotional. Such a great evening. The seats were not bad, they probably should have angled the big screens more to the side seats as opoosed to straight ahead because they had that off-to-the-side haze. But overral and great time!!! Thank you Garbage, Thank you Alanis!!!!
