About

BRANDON FLOWERS IN CONCERT:

Whether he's fronting The Killers or getting fans dancing with his synthpop-heavy solo work, Brandon Flowers is a consummate showman renowned for his powerful voice and flawless performances. Even though he packs the arena with tons of glitz, glam, and stunning visual effects, Flowers still forms a sincere connection with his fans on standouts like “Can’t Deny My Love” and “Crossfire” before indulging them with his countless hits from The Killers' catalog. Ticket buyers can’t help but swoon to his confident stage presence as he smoothly navigates the unique twists and turns of his dynamic setlist. With his album The Desired Effect still burning up the charts, Brandon Flowers is touring to bring his dance-worthy live show to cities across North America in 2015.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The youngest of six children, Brandon Flowers was born in Henderson, NV in 1981. After moving to Las Vegas he answered an ad posted by guitarist Dave Keuning in 2001, and they formed The Killers soon after. The group's 2004 debut Hot Fuss spawned a string of massive hits including “All These Things That I’ve Done”, “Smile Like You Mean It”, and “Mr. Brightside”, and was eventually named one of the "100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time" by Rolling Stone. International success and critical acclaim followed the band in the ensuing decade with hit albums like Sam’s Town (2006) and Day & Age (2008). Flowers made his solo debut in 2010 with the album Flamingo, which premiered at no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart behind the success of powerhouse single “Crossfire”.  Flamingo proved that Flowers had more than enough material to spread between projects, especially when The Killers returned in 2012 with the hit album Battle Born. His sophomore solo effort The Desired Effect arrived in 2015, once again reaching the top spot in the UK. Brandon Flowers’ live shows continue to reach new heights of sophistication and sheen, even as he maintains an intimate connection with his fans thanks to his passionate and powerful songs.

    Brandon Flowers.......phenomenal!!!

    by Frankie7 on 2010-12-15Sound Academy - Toronto

I have to say that Killers or not Brandon Flowers is absolutely amazing. His vocals are so fresh and sound just like you are listening to the CD. The Killers will always be my favorite band and now he my favorite soloist. I do hope he reunites with the Killers because their music is like no other band out there but I would be happy to hear him on his own anytime. It truly was a moving positive experience. Keep up the good work Brandon!!!!

    Brandon Flowers, toronto

    by AJ182 on 2010-12-15Sound Academy - Toronto

Leading up to the moment where Brandon Flowers took the stage on Saturday night at The Sound Academy in Toronto, there were debates throughout the crowd of what Flowers would fill his setlist with. Given that the man is one album into his solo career, people debated the likelihood of hearing some covers as well as material from The Killers. Fans wondered if The Killers’ frontman would take the undoubtedly popular route of Killers’ content or remain focused on Flamingo, his debut album. He walked out onto the dimly lit stage in skinny black pants, a grey button-up and a black suit-vest; all immaculately arranged. Flowers initially took little time to bask in the praise of Toronto’s fans, launching right into On The Floor. Throughout the show, he stayed on track as one of today’s great front-men: post-production perfect vocals, exceptional style, inter-singing dance moves and a persistent grin as he looked over the crowd. The show was enhanced by Flowers’ storytelling in-between tracks as he laid out some of the Las Vegas experiences that spawned tracks from Flamingo. In terms of covers, Flowers’ got the crowd excited with a polished version of Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes, which had the crowd dancing from the opening riff. There was no doubt that Flowers’ fanbase largely resembles that of The Killers. This became extremely apparent when he provided the crowd with a Saturday night treat of multiple Killers’ covers. Mid-way through his set he launched into Loosing Touch from Day & Age, pleasing the crowd, most of whom were elated to sing along with every word. The encore managed to supersede any expectations. Flowers came back onto stage after a short hiatus and sang the presumed show-closer, his latest single Only The Young. Subsequently, in a synchronized moment of joy, smiles made their way across the crowd as the familiar riff of Mr. Brightside flowed from the speakers. As Mr. Brightside pleased the venue, a few things seemed clear: Brandon Flowers is an exceptional entertainer, this was one of the best concerts of the year and fans of The Killers need not worry about their music being a thing of the past. Continue on to check out the video for Only The Young, an exceptional visual featuring a touch of Las Vegas and great dance moves.

    FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

by anid on 2010-12-07Sound Academy - Toronto

Excellent show. Amazing music. He seemed to have lots of fun with the music and audience. I'm not a big fan of sound academy, but good sound quality, intimate atmosphere vs a concert arena and Brandon helped me look past any negatives. Opener wasn't good, initially was hoping Fran Healy would continue on his tour. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Lots of energy, but venue sucked

by Rachal on 2010-12-06Sound Academy - Toronto

I've seen Brandon 6 times and this was by far his best performance. He had tons of energy and really played to the crowd. However, this venue is the absolute WORST venue ever. Just awful.

    Brandon Flowers beautiful :)

by UoGHcourtney on 2010-12-06Sound Academy - Toronto

Brandon Flowers is absolutely amazing! He is just as wonderful live as he is on his CD, which I find rare anymore. He has such gentleness and modesty that you can't help but be enthralled. He made a point to tell some personal stories as to where his songs came from, which made the experience even more beautiful :)
